That's just comical:
- “Phil is no quitter.” - except when he quit the team.
- "That kid has done everything that Iowa State has asked him to do." - except finish the season.
- “Did you ever see equal?” - no, we saw that AA was better, so he got more snaps.
- "Bates’ father said his son was not fatigued." - no, he just played like crap.
- "We supported Iowa State, even his freshman year when they pulled the bogus redshirt year off him, when they stole the redshirt year from him." - not Bates' decision.
- “He helps you beat Iowa, but even at receiver he never played.” - so, now he wants Bates in at receiver, taking time away from training at QB? That would certainly slowed his progress for this year...
angie i dont think you mean this part, youre just angry.
Does it surprise ANYONE that Phil Sr. was a mid-80s Husker?
not one bit
Pretty much supports that argument that daddy Bates has got the Bates blinders one. Ya, call out coach Chizik for calling him a quitter and then offer no reason why you just made the call telling him he was quitting. What a *******!!
When asked why he left the team, daddy Bates says "Why do you think?". That tells me all I need to know.
Next topic?
i agree, this says it all. but lets focus on this. why DO we think? i think its because Phil Sr. is a nut case. and no matter how mature a 20 year kid has gotten, he is still going to respect his dad enough to follow his direction.
