I'm trying to find a band to play at an anniversery in the northern part of the state and I'm having a heck of a time figuring out how to find them ... yellow book doesn't seem to list "bands" that aren't the string quartet type.

I know the power of CF off-topic and hoped someone might have an idea where to start.

Nothing fancy, just 60-80's dance-to type songs, maybe some country.

You might want to try Damon Dotson. He has a few CDs out and plays a lot of covers. Been to a few of his shows and have seen people anywhere from 2 years old to 70 years old dancing. Probably isn't too expensive either.

MySpace.com - Damon Dotson - Okoboji, Iowa - Acoustic - www.myspace.com/damondotson

Enjoyed his music (the music he plays of others) many times. May cater to a younger crowd a little better imo.
