So Band folks,

I have been one of those who...at times...get some cheap kicks out of poking fun of the fine folks who provide the sound track at our sporting events.

I realize this may be tasteless, but like an Iowa fan with a mullet and a Camaro with Nickelback in the tape player (dubbed from a CD player with a boom box on record sitting in front of it), I can't help it, I like it.

With this in mind, I saw an article on KCRG.com that appeared to be band related, the title was "Marching is Believing" and thought  oh, geez, another 'band is important' article.

But, it turned almost dusty in here, turns out it's a story about a blind band member who marches with the help of his fellow band members.

So, as an olive branch, I put this link:

Marching is Believing | KCRG-TV9 | Cedar Rapids, Iowa News, Sports, and Weather | Local News

and add that I will still probably keep making fun of the band (especially when someone laments the lack of interest when the Alma Mater is played), but in the end, if I really didn't like you, I'd just ignore you.

Signed,

Ok that was pretty good even though the kid was wearing an Iowa shirt and will probably go to school there since hi is just down the road from IC.

But did you see this story? It was a few years ago but it is still pretty good and his dad probably deserves some father award or something.
