The bad news (suspension) announcement understandbly needed to be held off until after media day. Mac and Co. didn't want it to deter from the focus of the positive stories and good feelings to come out of media day. Look for the official announcement early next week, perhaps on Hawkeye media day to prevent the bad news from being the top story, or at least the only story to focus on during a slower day.

I doubt very much that it's bball. No one gives a rat's *** about bball at this point and a basketball suspension would not take away from football media day. Doesn't make sense.

It's football.

I'd rather it be FB than MBB!

The MBB team is gaining some momentum on recruiting and could be better than most suspect this year. A key personnel loss could hurt G Mac's ability to keep the ball rolling.

Regarding FB, with the exception of Meyer, Blythe, Stephanson and Curvey, everyone else is replacable.
