Backyard Basketball Courts

Has anyone had a concrete basketball court installed recently? What dimensions would you recommend? What finish? Smooth, broom? Other?

Also, what is a reasonable cost for site prep, materials and labor? The two ball park estimates I received for a 31'x26' four inch thick slab ranged from $4,000 to $6,500.

I added a 1200 square foot pad (40w x 30), 4", 4000 psi concrete, rebar grid, to the side of my existing driveway a few months ago right in the middle of that price range.

You want a broom finish. Any moisture on a smooth surface would render your court dangerous.

Looks like you are in Central Iowa. Would you mind sharing which concrete contractor you used? Would you hire them again?
