It was incredibly easy to set-up. And their app is amazing. Easily 200 Mbps download. It would be even better if I mounted it on the roof but since this is temporary until fiber it is just siting on a stand in the yard.
Did you bury the cable or just have it laying on the yard?

I'm in a similar spot, fiber should get installed in our area in 2025 so need Starlink until they get it out to us.
I was planning to mount it under my eave but would obvioiusly be easier to just set it in the yard.
I worry the kids (or wife..) will run over the cable with the 4 wheeler or mower

This is what I want to do, but won't you essentially be out the money for the equipment?

we're supposed to get fiber this fall, but it's looking like that isn't going to happen so won't be until next year. Thought about doing the starlink as an in between but not sure I want to risk it, I guess.

What i have now is OK. Fixed-wireless.

maybe youre my new neighbor o_Oo_O
You can sell the equipment, it goes for just about as much as new on eBay. They have a pretty good sale going on right now for certain states that have more available capacity (Iowa included).

Unfortunately this is my understanding as well. I believe the T&C say you can't resell or transfer the equipment.

I didn't really have a choice. I need good/decent internet to WFH and HughesNet was the only other kind of ok option. I didn't want to be locked into a 2 year agreement with them, and I've heard their reliability is horrible

Selling equipment once I don't need it anymore. Hopefully there is a secondary market for it.

Does any have a full security camera system/doorbell without a subscription? I'm interested in one with that uses a NAS for storage (or a security hub). Eufy and Lorex both have systems that I may want to study further.
