AP Poll #10

Brando was way way way better than he was for the previous game.

Some of yall take ANY positive comment on the opponent as a slight against ISU.
For me it wasn't necessarily his bias although he was getting angry about odd stuff. He constantly misidentifies players, which is maybe his spotter's problem. The weirdest moment to me was when he was vehemently arguing that Rocco didn't pick up the first down when it was clear he stretched for the marker and got it. His commentary was just bizarre. He was bad last week. He was worse last night. And he's much much worse than he was 5 years ago, when he was a fun listen.

I said it in the game thread. Gave props for the color guy calling out Brando’s obvious wrong takes
Well the color guy as with many I have heard, continues to not understand the clock rules.

Clock runs until 2 min regardless someone goes out of bounds or stays inbounds.

Yet they continue to say... oh he stayed in bounds to run the clock, or no he went out of bounds that was a mistake etc.

Only one time this weekend during a game did the commentator correct it saying with the new (a few years old) rules in college that keeps clock running until the last 2 mins. regardless of inbounds or out.

He’s 68. Some of these guys think that just because legends like Keith Jackson broadcast forever, they can too.

So with a win Saturday we could jump
Alabama. Plays Tennessee
Georgia plays Texas

11. Tennessee might jump us with a win but I doubt we’ve ever been ranked above Bama and UGa.

On the down side one loss Boise ( 3 pts to Oregon) is a threat to claim one of the byes over a one loss Big XII team. I don’t think the 5th champ is even guaranteed a home game.

So we’re rooting for UNLV next week?

LOL the real highlight of the night was the slo-mo replay that confirmed that Rocco made it well past the line of gain and Brando still said they got the call wrong. Dude was watching a different game than the rest of us all night.

Not directed "at" you, a general observation, it also was mentioned previously in the thread.

There's a possibility B12 won't get the 4 seed, but as results stand currently, I don't know how it's justifiable to put Boise over BYU or ISU. (Bondura for ESPN has it that way this week).

A "close loss" to a top 5 team won't hurt, but wins matter. The resume doesn't jump off the page.

A 21-point win over Washington State ... solid.
at Georgia Southern (4-2, leads division in Sun Belt).
Utah State (1-5 ... no wins over FBS opponent)
at Hawai'i (2-4 ... no wins over FBS opponent)
Portland State (1-5 FCS team)

(Both ESPN guys do have both BYU and ISU in the field, though.)

ESPN trying to turn the discussion away from how many teams Big and SEC get to seeding?

Gonna throw this out there but Iowa State will have their second bye week between now and the first playoff rankings... Be prepared for a "so and so SEC or B1G school has an extra data point right now".

If the Big 12 produces a 2 loss champion I think Boise State almost certainly gets the #4 seed.

If Oregon goes undefeated they might even get the nod over a 1-loss Big 12 champion, depending on the circumstances.

An undefeated Oregon team will always get the nod over 1 loss big 12 team.

Yeah, I was also critical of their agreement on the "outside the tackle box" call, Rocco clearly took two strides to his right and then released it during the third stride, certainly making it a judgement call and the ref was right behind him when he released, and made the call!

Sorry, bad writing.

I meant if Boise State’s only loss is a close one to an undefeated Oregon then I think a 1-loss Boise State could get the #4 seed over a 1-loss Big 12 champion, depending on the circumstances.

Yeah people need to cheer against Boise State right now should we get to that point where we would win the conference.

My favorite part is the everyone is just granting the ACC champ the 3 seed and it’s all because of the name on the front of the jersey. Miami is unbeaten but really shouldn’t be and Clemson has a loss. Would really like both of them to lose a game or two.

I don't think that will matter much as there will be other teams that will have had their 2nd bye. Plus our 2nd bye is October 26th. The first CFP rankings are on November 5th (after our game against TTU).

Calling a defensive hold a 50 50 call after Brown went crazy about the pass being uncatchable was bizarre. Should just said, it was clearly defensive holding and the ball being uncatchable has nothing to do with it. Instead, he acted like Brown had a legit complaint.
