Alright 2 things
1) I'm sick of playing at the site I have been playing at and want to know what sites you play or would recommend.

2) Anybody play in a good game during the week anywhere around Ames? Looking to start playing again alot more and didn't know if anybody had a home game with an empty seat. Sorry for the selfish post btw

I like pokerstars. Go to pokerstars.com. That's the one for real money. pokerstars.net is the play money site.

I like ultimatebet.com and bodog.com

Bodog it is rather difficult to get your payouts but have never had a problem with UB

None of my credit/debit cards get accepted on any site. I love to bet on college football but was denied this year.

I do play poker with some guys here in Des Moines about every 5-6 weeks, pretty good time. Low stakes some beer and lots of laughs.

If anybody is interested, there is a benefit Poker Tournament in South Des Moines for Juvenile Diabetes. Can't remember where but if you PM me I can get you the details tomorrow... $30 entry I think, half goes to the pot, half to the charity...

I play on FullTilt and like it. I like it better than Poker Stars, just the gameplay is more enjoyable. Miss Party Poker.

Dont play on Absolute Poker or Ultimate Bet as they have cheated their customers in the past.

Back in the 80's I played with a group about twice a month and we would rotate houses. There were about six regulars and quite a few that would show up sporadically. We even played once in a while over at the old Black Knight Lounge in Boone. It was serious poker and I can't remember the exact stakes but I remember it being enough that it hurt to lose. I quit playing when life got busier but I missed it because it was a lot of fun.
Anyway, back to your post, I ran into one of the old guys the other day and he was saying he is in a group in Ames that plays so I'll see if I can find out what they are playing and if they have a seat.

There is quite a bit of red tape you have to go through before doing something like that. A guy I used to work with got busted by the gaming commission or something because they played for more than 50 bucks, which apparently is against the law. Got into deep doo doo for what I think was an honest mistake.

Pokerstars has basically everything, obviously Hold em is the most popular but Omaha isn't too far behind, but they also play 7 Stud, badugi, 5 Card draw, Razz and I am pretty sure everthing you can think of....not sure about other sites...

I thought the limit was 500? I am sure there would be a lot of hoops to jump through, but I am sure someone can hula hoop well:cool:

It's $50 for a simple home game between individuals.
