I went the Greek route and to this day (15 years later) still hang out with on a monthly basis with about 5 or 6 guys from the house and their families. I know this site is anti-Greek, but it is worth at least looking into.

The cost is the same as dorms, food options are better in my opinion and the housing in my opinion was nicer. There are lots of events you get involved with from Homecoming to Greek Week and VEISHEA (oh wait!). Also, it's a great way to meet ladies. You are constantly doing functions with a sorority houses.

Also, intramurals are huge with rivalries between houses...

Just my 2 cents...(and now the ridicule will come :)

Yes I forgot, if you like to be forced into doing social activities at assigned times then go Greek. Yell like Hell is sooo much fun.

Learn to relax a little bit. College won't be any fun if you're strung way too tight.
