Ankeny home builders recommendations

We've been thinking about building a new home for a while, just talked to the realtor associated with the builder and they may not be doing any more custom homes until late this year. Anyone have any good builders from experience?

We would like to use Remington, but they may be busy, not sure I trust the agent they work with. Kimberly is awesome, but most of their houses might be out of our price range. Will probably stop by and talk with them though.

Had a great experience with Gabe and Liz Wilson from Giovantti. Would highly recommend them. We built almost 3 years ago, and I had a question the other day and emailed Gabe, and he replied back with a good recommendation within the hour.

On the other hand, we had horrible service from Justin Greenfield and Moulton & Associates.

TECK General Builders in Ankeny. Ty is the owner and he seems like an awesome guy to work with. Solid craftsmanship and he adds more character to his houses compare to some larger builders.

Meadowbrook built ours over 5 years ago now. Highly recommend. Love the house and no issues whatsoever.

My wife and I had our home built by Happe Homes (in Ames). They were great to work with and took care of anything that didn't turn out (like our front sidewalk). Really great layout and quality work. They also had the best price we could find. Definitely worth your time to check out.

I just finished building about 2 years ago. If I could do it over again I would do Tyler homes or MJ. I live in prairie Trail, and there are a heap of houses by both builders and they look great.

We are building with Happe Homes at Otter Creek in Northeast Ankeny...waiting on concrete road to be completed before permitting and starting.

Sounds like MJ Properties has some lots on that same street is what I heard but not positive.

I've seen some of their signs in North Ankeny and had never heard of them before. If you don't mind sharing, what happened?

Tyler builds a nice home, but my experience was not very positive in building a custom home with them. Wouldn't do it again.

Same here. House is well built and they were easy to work with on some minor fixes during the warranty. I'd recommend them for sure.
