"Stoops will be given a $325,000 bonus for the game on top of his current salary as the special assistant to the vice president for intercollegiate athletics programs and director of athletics."

Try fitting that on a business card...

"Built on trust" ?????
"I am not here to win games".

Boy, that seemed genuine.
I think Campbell may have broke the existing matrix, in a way. Whereas quite a few think Campbell's rhetoric has been entirely 'coach speak' over the past season (or his entire career), I think the gd video of him on senior day with the seniors erased our 7-5/underperforming season. You can't fake the love & sincerity - otherwise you come across like BK here.

Matched with what he has done for Iowa State during his tenure & this video going somewhat viral of recent & that is why we are at this point in time (whatever the f that is, idk). I don't think this is coincidental with our highest rated recruiting class in the fold either. We lose Campbell, God's speed & thanks for all you did. Think we could count on being pretty good/relevant & not slip into complete oblivion. Keep Campbell, well then I think the sky's the limit & we've only scratched the surface of what could be accomplished in Ames. That's what is riding on things in my eyes (means jack $h!t, I know) & makes this all the more stressful to me. This razor's edge of paradigm shift (he stays) to eeking out 6-7 wins for bowl eligibility & not having the opportunity to win every single game.

Sure. Competition level may be questionable but that's a lot of wins
Looking at SP+, which is based on play-by-play data and is opponent adjusted, we are losing #17 OU and #54 UT but gaining #5 Cincinnati, #29 Houston, #45 BYU and #67 UCF.

Our conference average rank in 2021 with the current 10 teams is 48.7. Using the future 12 conference teams it's 46.8.

What a terrible pep talk/speech or whatever that was. I thought I was watching the opening of an Amway presentation or getting ready to tour time share condos. You could watch any CMC team speech (and even just a press conference) that has been posted and see what a difference there is in fire, intensity, loyalty and commitment.

I was just waiting for "you're all lucky to have me here."
Maybe next time.
