Whaaat??? I thought you already said Vennables to OU happening

All signs still point to him with Jeff Lebby as OC. They just talked to Campbell, could have been a full interview or a 90 second phone call.

(since it is a state school there are requirements for minimum interviews, etc.)

by your thinking Chizik should've worked out. Rhoads should've worked out. Everyone between Bruce and McCarney should've worked out.

Seeing as it's easy to win in this conference in Ames Ia. Getting to 7 wins is historic for this program. Now that 7 wins is considered a let down year, I have very little confidence that we can just say "peace" to the coach/staff that made that a reality and things will continue on it's own no matter who takes over.
People that whine about 7-5 are idiots. Do we want to win a lot? Yes, but how was the situation with Rhoads? I don’t need to remind anyone how depressing it was. Add the snow and you are confined in your living room watching freaking Iowa going to a bowl game is one thing I don’t miss. I will take a 6-6 season for 20 years. I’m good, anything else is a luxury.

The interview could also have been Matt answering the phone, Oklahoma saying hey we want you to come coach for a butt load of money, Matt saying no thanks and then Oklahoma leaking it was an "interview" to save face

I'm very skeptical of the OU interview rumor.

I saw earlier in the thread a good point though (as much as i'd hate this if he went there), most of us would listen if a similar job reached out in our industries to talk (even if the "competition"). Us fans may not like it, but in CMC's profession he's just doing what many of us may do.

We all project our own "what I would dos" if we were college coaches...but most of us are not (if not all of are not, lol).
