Idea: Alerts

I'm over on the boneyard and one of the things they do are alerts. Tells you when somebody quotes your post. I was thinking that's a cool idea and would like to see something like that over here. I don't know if that's something that can be done easily or not so I don't know if it's a good idea but I just thought I would share.

I've thought this for awhile as well. have maybe a notification tab like Facebook or a pop up that notifies you when somebody quotes you or replies to you in a thread.
