Here is my cool story, brah moment of the weekend.......We drove from WDM to Northern Virginia, stopping in Canton, Ohio for a night. We wanted to go to the HofF first thing before heading out but found out the AFC rookies had a private event planned all morning and the public could not get in until noon. After waiting around and returning, the rookies were still there, but they allowed younger kids to form a "tunnel" and high five the players on their way out. My 5th grade son was able to take part in this and since he was wearing an ISU shirt was able to get a good high five and a quick conversation with Jeremiah George. I only had my cell phone camera so was too far away to get a picture. Johnny Football was right behind JG and interacted well with the kids too...I think JG was surprised to see an ISU shirt.

Which hotel did you stay at in Canton or wherever? Canton sucks besides the HoF. But cool story!

We stayed at a Fairfield Inn and Suites about 10 minutes away from the Hall, which I would recommend. Very nice and clean. We happened to check Tripadvisor or saw a google review and it was the #1 rated hotel in Canton; so others agree.

I also agree with your Canton sucks take....kind of a run down area. The Hall of Fame was worth the wait, but not much else to do while we had to wait to get inside.

The one up on top of the hill in North Canton? I've actually stayed in that one. It's pretty nice.

You could've gone up to Akron for a Rubberducks game if you're into Minor League Baseball. It's pretty cool. Plus Bryce Harper is in town rehabbing with Harrisburg.

We actually lived in Canton for about 6 years, and were literally 6 blocks from the hall of fame; passed it everyday. My son was born there, and we have a lot of great memories; but can't argue with others assessment. Although the golf tournaments at Firestone are world class.

That's Akron. Akron > Canton all day. But I heard Canton used to be better back when the tire factories were around. But the tide has shifted. All the money went up to North Canton and Green. Now Green and Jackson are big schools. And I just heard Green switched to the Federal League so now we can get the Battle of the Marching Bands Jackson vs Green game.

But I used to volunteer at the tournament for 13 years or so. It was awesome.

Yes, that was the hotel. North Canton had some great neighborhoods with big yards.

We did find a nice park (Hall of Fame Park?) right near the HofF which had a nice walking trail, but their was a 5k about to begin and the humidity was rising so we did not hang around for very long. Drove around and ended up at the mall near the hotel, mostly due to the heat/humidity.

I guess it does not surprise me the area has seen better times, I am glad we stopped and saw the hall though.
