Agreed that Blythe had his opportunities... but I believe that that particluar pass was also well behind him so that one wasnt too much his fault. but he did have his chances, only a few but they were there.

it was ahead of him slightly but not impossible for the Great Blythe to catch. I am sick of hearing ******** along the lines of throw to Blythe every down. he got his chance atleast and he was open. 1 attempt Zero reception

I cant believe that we are this demanding of our players... I mean yea he may not have made a few plays but do we really need to jump on their backs as soon as he makes a mistake... U cant expect him to pull down amazing catches and play perfect every game... players make mistakes, thats just the way it is... where is the Blame that Meyer doesnt scan the field as well as he should... point is all players make mistakes here and there... but its not fair to the players to expect them to be perfect every play of every game.

if your a coach and you call a play you want someone to go out and make that play. no matter its Barkema,Nickel,Davis,Summrall,Blythe,Moses or anyone else on are receiving core. lots of people like Blythe and are acting like he never got a chance last night. they think he can do and do something amazing every time WELL HE DIDNT. maybe he is not the answer every play.

I love the receiving core at ISU I hope they get open but most of all I want to see what few chances we have they get a chance with the ball and make the best with it.

I agree that as a coach you have to have confidence in your players to come through in clutch situations but just because they have come through in the past doesnt mean they will be able to meet the demands that are placed on them every play. Just cause he misses one catch doesnt mean that he wont pull down a one-handed touchdown pass the next play...(Hypothetically) All the players are trying to make the best out of their opportunities but do we really need to jump on them saying that they are complaining that they never get the chance?

its tight rope cut throat football
I am sure Toledo would like a second chance at that 2 point conversion
I am sure UNLV would like a second chance at that last play and not the review.

we won narrowly in both games with no shortage of people complaining about giving Blythe the ball more cause good things will happen. he got a chance and came away with grab once but not second time around. then we having people that want more points and a easier win. Mac didnt call a conservative running play on 3rd on long it was pass and Meyer chose to through to a open Blythe.

defense needs to force the punt or get a fumble or interceptiong. then back to Offense and potential issues

We're criticizing Todd Blythe because he didn't make a first down reception when it's 3rd and 23. That's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. How often does that happen?

I recall throwing to him three times. The aforementioned play, the interception, and the time in the middle of the field where Meyer overthrew him terribly.

U cant completely blame Blythe for the interception... the d-back jumped the route perfectly and Meyer should have thrown it to a higher location where the D-back wouldnt have the same chance to intercept the pass... Blythe did all that he could do at the moment... so everyone needs to get off his back about it. he makes plays when he can and we as fans should be greatful that we have a reciever with his skill and potential and quit criticizing the players when they screw up.. its starting to get rediculous.... u cant blame Blythe for a bad throw or when a D-back jumps the route and picks off the ball.... let alone blame him for where the ball was thrown in the first place.

Weren't those the same plays, or did I have a few too many??

There were different plays. We tried to go to him over the middle when we were heading north, and the 3rd and 23 play was heading south, and the fans were mad that there wasn't an interference call.

it was not horribly overthrown. would have been perfect if Blythe didnt changeup his speed and slip

Iowa State has at least a top 10 receiving corp. Throw them the damn ball. Our D kept them at 10 points. There is no reason this game should have come down to the final seconds. If our Offense scores less then 20, they are not doing their job.
