#21 in AP Poll - CYCLONES

For everyone saying, "I dont want to be ranked, blah blah" seriously? Being ranked means your relevant in the national spotlight. What highlights does ESPN play each night? They always eye in on the ranked teams. Playing on a ranked team matters quite a bit to recruits, and being ranked = way more national coverage which only builds the brand on a national scale. Oh, please go tell Ejim, Niang, Kane, Long, etc. that being ranked doesn't matter. They'd laugh at you. I guarantee it means a whole lot to them (even if they dont say it does in the media) because it means there hard work is paying off and showing not only to them but to national analyst and the rest of the country.

I love being ranked, I hope it puts a big target on our back, I hope when we visit other teams on the road that they sell out their arena hoping to see an upset against OUR team. We feed off ranked teams coming into Hilton hoping to see an upset, and other teams are going to do that to us. Keep climbing those rankings boys!

You are totally wrong. In fact, we should stop winning because it might let teams know that we are good.

I'm with you. Can't be worried about being a target. In fact, paint that target bigger and brighter!

Wish we did not have BYU right away. Would have been nice to hear DV blather on about ISU. Oh well, get the W!!

I agree with you helps recruiting etc. Just remember that they are going to lose games, there will be rough patches but it does not mean the team is falling apart.

Not surprising. Most coaches fill out their polls earlier on Sunday, or whenever they have time. I'm guessing a decent amount filled out the poll prior to our win against Michigan
