#21 in AP Poll - CYCLONES

Not surprising. Most coaches fill out their polls earlier on Sunday, or whenever they have time. I'm guessing a decent amount filled out the poll prior to our win against Michigan

It's more likely that the kid in charge of laundry filled it out.

Um, it's kind of your issue if you are embarrassed. And making fun of our in-state rivals isn't obsessive. Every fanbase in the nation with an instate rivalry is the same way. Squawk fan thinking they are superior to ISU in every possible way fuels the fire too.

Im pretty sure we are superior to you guys. Especially in the "really hammered and embarrassing girls who like to buy UV Blue/Lemonades with daddy's credit card" department. Duh.

That'll give us some good opportunities to root for them. I hope they beat the snot out of Duke.
Honestly, I like the way Michigan plays. I like the roster and coach, too. I'd root for them anyway; I know I did last year during the tourney.

... how is Iowa in the top 25 of coaches based on its wins? Even if the coaches filled out their ballots prior to Sunday, how is UNCW, Nebraska-Omaha, Maryland Eastern Shore, and Abilene Christian Wildcats deserving of top 25? I would think Marquette should stay based on the fact they only lost to a ranked OSU team.

Rankings are fluid, and extremely bipolar early in the season, which is how Iowa State can go from almost no votes to 21st by beating a top-10 team, and said top-10 team drops to 14th after a road loss.

But your question is valid for that very reason — Marquette was ranked above Iowa the previous week, played a top-25 team and lost (albeit convincingly at home) and Iowa so far hasn't played a challenging opponent.

Bumping this as this poll (Nov. 18, 2013) was the first of what is now 46 straight weeks that Iowa State has been ranked in the AP Poll.

The stretch is in jeopardy for next Monday although a win at K-State on Saturday might allow ISU to hang on in the 23-25 range, but then ISU would probably need to beat OU at Hilton (and TCU) to stay in for another week.
