We dodged one there IMO... No disrespect, but he's a terrible shooter and a better mid-major playerFamiliar name back in the portal: https://www.on3.com/db/jeremiah-williams-60242/

My guess is that their top dollar offer is already out there, so the skepticism is coming from the standpoint that if it comes down to more money, we're out. If we're in the ballpark, there's a chance that TJ, the staff, team and atmosphere and culture win out. We'll see.
Sure, but different things appeal to different players. Our culture may be more to his liking for whatever reason.Problem is Purdue has a great culture and good atmosphere for basketball as well. It's not like we are going against a team that has no fans show up and hasnt proven themselves to be a good tournament team. So I am not sure if they offer more money than us what we can really claim over them. If it's some team like Memphis or Oklahoma I would say we have a better shot.
On the other hand, Purdue has had a lot more success using their bigs than we have. Could be a selling point for them.Sure, but different things appeal to different players. Our culture may be more to his liking for whatever reason.
Maybe - but he didn't play AT ALL. Less than Kelderman or Rock did for us. He played a total of 29 minutes and went 1-11 from the field and 0-3 from the FT line.If Rohde doesn't commit, I'd get him to Ames on a visit ASAP, given the MASSIVE need in 26/27 after Tamin graduates.
Probably a lot cheaper to get him now and let him grow in our system versus trying to buy a proven PG with our limited resources
While I doubt TJ would hold it against a player for wanting to take his visits, I'm sure the manner in which a player talks about their process gives him an indication whether they are a cultural fit with how he likes to do things. If you hesitate with TJ seems like things might just end there and then. I can't believe he would take a guy that doesnt say yep I'm all in right away.
One difference major difference - Rohde is considered a pretty good defender. Dix played for Mad Fran.As Rohde seems to be closer to a viable addition I'd like to make the Rohde/Dix comparison. I feel they are practically the same player size/skill set. They both are good with the ball in their hands facilitating the offense as well as solid spot up shooters. Rohde appears only to be a more bargain option because of the offense he is coming from. Throw Rohde on Iowa last year and he's getting 15pts a game.

Completely agree. Someone posted some data from the six games he played pg too. Tons of assists and very few turnovers. We need that with Tamins health. We need a few players that can facilitate. As Rohde seems to be closer to a viable addition I'd like to make the Rohde/Dix comparison. I feel they are practically the same player size/skill set. Based on?Unfortunately, at this point it's late and I don't think we'd take him now. But man that would be an outstanding Lipsey replacement in a year. Kid is an absolute dog
Just on how many roster spots to fill. Also, if Freitag wants to play a larger role this year it wouldn't be here.Based on?
Dix is not a bad defender. He is a product of Fran’s system. He wasn’t taught or expected to play good defenseOne difference major difference - Rohde is considered a pretty good defender. Dix played for Mad Fran.
I would guess soDoes Pack have a medical redshirt or something? This will be his sixth season!
I would guess so
i remember him being one of the first to kick off the whole NIL thing. Didn't he get like 900K or something to goto Miami
Man, I wish we could afford this kid. He’s a hell of a player.
I meant the "dog" attribution.Just on how many roster spots to fill. Also, if Freitag wants to play a larger role this year it wouldn't be here.
