Curious how Stirtz would hold up in the Big 12... He's very skinny
He scored 21 vs. Miami and 22 vs. K-State in the non-con.

Yes, but we also know he’ll never play more than 20 per.Jackson will be starting at the 5 again next year.
Exactly! Maybe they spoiled us but having a player like that would really up level us in TJs system. The defense is great except for giving them so many extra shots.Ejim/Hogue. McKay was also good his first year.
Not great examples, but that's all we've got. I think Stirtz would be a good player at the P5 level regardless. He'll follow McCollum to Iowa City or wherever. I don't think either are back at Drake next season. He scored 21 vs. Miami and 22 vs. K-State in the non-con.
He's played >20 minutes 13 different times this year, with a high of 30.Yes, but we also know he’ll never play more than 20 per.
Stirtz is a good player. Not the most athletic, but very steady with the ball and really good instincts and vision. He reminds me of Lipsey, some, in how it feels like he knows where the ball is going to be before anyone else does. Good shooter and never gets emotional. Gets to the FT line a lot (many times via bail out when he drives, but hey…still ends up on the line), and he knocks them down. Not great examples, but that's all we've got. I think Stirtz would be a good player at the P5 level regardless. He'll follow McCollum to Iowa City or wherever. I don't think either are back at Drake next season.
But how much did he score against good competition? He scored 21 vs. Miami and 22 vs. K-State in the non-con.
But 18.5 “per”He's played >20 minutes 13 different times this year, with a high of 30.
This guy appears to be the same type stretch 4 as Pleta (German kid).![]()

Here is a name ISU needs to keep an eye on... 6'10", good shooter, from Wisconsin, and a decent to good rebounder.
Tamin, TBD SG, Milan, Jefferson, and Feddersen would be a great 5 out offense and provide good size.
As long as Sampson is at Houston, I think that is who everyone in the Big 12 will be chasing, unfortunatelyI am hoping Toure' will be the next great Cyclone point guard. I believe he was a very under the radar recruit that can tutor a year under Lipsey, then help our offense evolve towards the European ball movement style that BYU is also developing.
By the way, I think we saw the new Big XII Kansas basketball replacement a week ago in BYU. They have unlimited money, to go with fan support, quality players, and coaching. I think they are the ones we will be chasing the next few years, at least.
He's not good enough for the NBA and ISU has < 1% chance on him. He'll either be back at Drake or with Mccollum. If Stirtz does not go pro, he most likely will be a Cyclone next year
Nojus is big, stronger and more athletic than Pav.
Maybe Nojus leaves.
Maybe he fills Jones' role next year, offense off the bench (with Heise starting).
Our 3, 4 and 5 all return, doubt Momcilovic is playing the 4 over Jefferson.I'd be happy if Nojus fills Nate Heise's role next year- complimentary scorer and jump shooter off the bench. But he may have a long ways to go from a defend and rebound standpoint vs. Heise.
Momcilovic is the guy I will be most interested in this off-season. Obviously, I hope he stays- but you never know what kids are thinking or the money that some team might pony up. But it seems to me that TJ likes a 3 guard lineup and Momcilovic's role with ISU in 2025/26 might be more of a 4 than 3. If that's the case, he needs to work on his body and mid-range scoring in the off-season.
Gotta believe TJ's two priorities in the portal will be scoring guard and above the rim post whose strengths are rebounding & rim protection.
Our 3, 4 and 5 all return, doubt Momcilovic is playing the 4 over Jefferson.
The name didn't ring a bell even though I saw UNO play ISU this year and I figured out why. Against ISU he went 1-5 from 2, 0-2 from 3, 1-3 from the FT line and had 3 rebounds. After watching this guy grab 18 rebounds last night, might as well throw him in mix. You'd think this guy would find a new school for next year.

Did you hear Jones talk about how he has been a PG everywhere he has ever played so it was a bit of an adjustment for him not to be the PG here?Right, it's very simple. They need a ball handler who is good enough defensively. Nojus has struggled mightily with both in spot time.
This is less of a call-out on Nojus and more that this team really needed a true backup PG. Same problem as last season. Jones and Gilbert can do it, but they both play significantly better when they aren't playing that role.
Having 6-5 to 6-9 guys everywhere from the 1 to the 4 with a couple of legitimate forwards and a couple of guys coming off the bench in that same range, AND nearly all of them being legitimate threats from deep is a tough lineup to defend. The length to be able to pass over the top and ability to switch on everything on defense is a heck of a recipe for success.I am hoping Toure' will be the next great Cyclone point guard. I believe he was a very under the radar recruit that can tutor a year under Lipsey, then help our offense evolve towards the European ball movement style that BYU is also developing.
