After watching some film and highlights(have to take with a grain of salt), I really like what I see out of these high school guys in particular.
De'Amontae Jackson. This kid looks like he will be a real force on the d-line in a few years. Has great size and athleticism for a guy his size. I see why this kid had so many offers. He has a ton of potential.
Landen Akers. Here is a kid I pretty much wrote off when he committed. He really surprised me. This kid reminds me a lot of Josh Lenz. He is fast, seems to have good hands, and never gives up on plays. This kid could have a nice career at ISU.
Joshua Thomas. Not the fastest guy on the field, but shows great patience and vision when running with the ball. Those are two huge traits to have when running with the ball. Being able to find the hole, and be patient in doing so can make even the most average athlete look good. With his size, he should have a very nice career as a Cyclone.
Carson Epps. Surprised this kid didn't have more offers. He runs crisp, smooth routes and has good speed. I wouldn't be surprised to see this kid get some good playing time as a redshirt freshman next season.
Stephon Brown. This kid has tremendous speed. He had a big offer list, but not many high major offers. He seems to have been an over looked recruit. Speed is something that can overcome limitations in other areas. If he can put on 15 pounds of muscle, this kid could be a 3-4 year contributor at this level.
I think these kids will see the field early on (After a redshirt). Not saying none of the other kids will see the field early on, but these kids in particular really stood out to me. I don't see any high school player playing as a true freshman, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Jackson or Thomas play this fall.
