No. Nobody said that. Everyone said Brian Kelly or Tim Brewster was our best option. Nobody could even figure out who Chiz was until Pollard said he was "the best."
Actually, alot of people thought Chizik was the best candidate but we had no shot at him... That's why it was a big suprise...

The best part of the search last year was message boards (mainly this one) snowballed the "Ditka to ISU" rumor and it made its way up the chain until a media outlet actually asked Ditka about the job!
Bob Stoops's wife is from Cresco (NE Iowa). I don't know about Mike's wife...

We need to do this with Ditka again and maybe when asked he would say "Sure, I'm interested".
