12/17 Official Coaching Search Thread

Here then, Skippy Holtz. I thought it was his wife who's from Ames and ISU. He's coming here and his daddy is finally going to have to shut the hell up and start supporting ISU! Eat it Lou, the in-laws won!

Here's a rumor.

"Ditka and Mini-Ditka fell into radioactive goo and created Micro-Ditka who will be announced as ISU's next head coach." 62andevensteven.com

gary patterson, David Baliff, Whittingham, Todd Graham....and there are others.

Look...Loney is a terrific alumn...but not what ISU needs...right now.

Was Chizik the best coach we could get at the time? Just asking.

At the time? everyone including the media he was the best out there. So you are saying if we have one bad experience ordering prime rib...we should stick to ordering a safe tasty hot dog?
No. Nobody said that. Everyone said Brian Kelly or Tim Brewster was our best option. Nobody could even figure out who Chiz was until Pollard said he was "the best."

Actually, alot of people thought Chizik was the best candidate but we had no shot at him... That's why it was a big suprise...

Somebody please leak something. I don't care if its not true, just leak it.

62andeven is spewing junk again. Graham is possibly meeting with Pollard tonight, then say another source says Graham told Pollard, 'not interested'. OK, so where is the news here? I could say that about every candidate you have mentioned. My sources would be MontyBurns and Clone2theBone... (Sorry guys, you were the only names I could think of on a whim.)

The best part of the search last year was message boards (mainly this one) snowballed the "Ditka to ISU" rumor and it made its way up the chain until a media outlet actually asked Ditka about the job!

Isn't Stoops wife from Iowa?
Nope ... try again. Appears her family is from Dallas, where they met at a bar. She's 14 years younger than him.
She was working as an apartment property manager at the time she met Stoops, who was visiting Dallas for a football convention when the two struck up a conversation at a restaurant bar. She always expected someday she'd become a teacher and stay in Dallas the rest of her life, to be near her family. But then came an unplanned pregnancy and a choice. She and Mike weren't married at the time, and they ruled out getting married solely because of the pregnancy - they wanted to be sure they were meant for each other. They married when their daughter was 2.

M&M are gonna spin it like no one is interested and then sing the praises of JP when he pulls the rabbit out.

That and I think Martha has an axe to grind with JP...since JP normally makes him look like the ***-clown he is.

Besides a man who is up to his ears in gambling debts shouldn't be taken seriously.
