Actually, alot of people thought Chizik was the best candidate but we had no shot at him... That's why it was a big suprise...

I wish that were true...

I, for one, was pretty disappointed when everyone thought it was Brian Kelly. I was also extremely excited when it was announced that Chizik was taking over.

I also seem to remember that almost every college football analyst or expert in the country was touting Chizik as the "next big thing." Many were shocked that ISU could pull off such an impressive hire, as most thought Gene would pass on us while waiting for one of the big boys to come calling.

Since you know all of those things to be patently untrue, would you care to enlighten all of us as to what the real truth might be? I'll be patiently waiting on the edge of my seat to hear your "facts".

I'd be willing to bet that Pollard gets someone that is mentioned very few times by the media or this board but who knows.

But a lot of people have been saying that on this board...so that means that "someone who isn't mentioned much on the board" has been mentioned a lot on the board...so...umm...oh man, I think I just ripped a whole in the space-time continuum...

Is it conceivable to see Peterson leaving Boise to come down here? Never mind the fact that Boise St. isn't an NCAA team -- they play like the top-notch team they are year in and year out. He is a great coach, and he's getting recruits to come to BOISE of all places. I'm not trying to be a debbie downer here, just thinking logically. I think Skip would be a good choice. He's proven, although they kind of fell off a little after their strong start, he knows how to get the job done.

Your right..did someone confirm that? I just think this plane just makes too much sense..not a whole lot of people can hire a lear jet to fly them in/out of Ames.

Paul Clark placed him in ATL at a search firm.

We need a Cybookie on who the new coach will be.

Kansas City Star is reporting that Turner Gill signed a contract extension with Buffalo yesterday. Their words (...ending speculation he is looking for another job...) no mention of ISU

Quoted similar story on 1620 in Omaha this morning and they did mnention Iowa state looking at Turner.

how bout someone like butch jones at cmu? i mean jp let the last cmu coach go so can he risk to pass on the new one again? ...

I mentioned him this morning. Him or the Western Michigan coach, Bill Cubit. Both are MAC coaches, looking to move up, who have been successful and are already in cold weather climates, so that's not an issue. Just an idea.
