Will we ever get the athletes like Oklahoma has?

The irony is that in the eyes of Sooner fans it was the lack of strength in the D-line that was the difference in the playoff games. Credit Alex Grinch for installing a one-gap scheme and recruiting players to fit the scheme. Better secondary play and better more consistent tackling also to...

Will we ever get the athletes like Oklahoma has?

At the end of WW2 OU and the state of Oklahoma decided there was a need to overcome the "Grapths of Wrath" Dust Bowl image of the state. The decision was made to do it using college football as the catalyst. Two other things that have made a huge difference for OU...proximity to Texas and the...

Will we ever get the athletes like Oklahoma has?

A lot to unpack herein. OU has been rated the #1 program in the modern era of college football...post WW2. It's a matter of consistency. Except for the '90s, the Sooners have been incredibly consistent. To me, ISU can achieve such consistency. Remember, Miami was about to drop football until...

As I've said before, no pandemic and the attendance ratio would heavily favor OU. The Metroplex is huge OU territory. 25% of the OU student body comes from Texas. It's about 2 hours from Norman to Arlington. With Covid the crowd in my opinion will not be a factor.

    Briles to Tech?...

Lubbock, like so many similar mid-sized Texas cities, is the essence of the real Texas culture. Location is secondary to lifestyle. Victoria, Tyler, Wichita Falls, Amarillo, Waco, Abilene, Midland-Odessa...the real Texas. They all have 3 things in common: high school football, Dairy Queen, and...

This! Not only is Norman relatively close, the Metroplex is a huge OU alumni base. Roughly 25% of OU enrollment is from Texas.

    OU improved, what about ISU

There is no Fullback position in the OU offensive scheme. The position is an H-back, which depending on the set can be a TE, FB, RB, or true H-back. It is one of the keys to the success of the Sooner offense under Riley. Hall, Stogner, Willis, and true freshman Mikey Henderson all line up in...

    OU improved, what about ISU

This will be the matchup of the game. OU's front 7 has been the story of 2020 for the Sooners. With Perkins back and the development of Thomas, Bonitto, and Ughwebou, it's the best front 7 in Norman since 2008.

    OU improved, what about ISU

I do not think being on "the big stage" will affect ISU. If no Covid maybe because OU would dominate the crowd but under current circumstances the crowd should be little or no factor. The biggest question mark with OU is it's O-line. What was supposed to be a strength simply has not lived up to...

Depends on what you mean by close. The normal venues one would see around a big stadium simply do not exist around JerryWorld. I too have been to many games there.

I'm going to go ahead and mention J. Gilligan's Sports Bar. Probably not an option with the virus but a great place fairly close to the stadium and for $5 they offer a shuttle service to and from the stadium. There are parking lots close to the bar where you can park. Parking at JerryWorld is...

Not sure how many are familiar with JerryWorld. It is a magnificent structure but possibly the worst stadium to watch a game in I've ever been in. The acoustics are terrible. The lower level elevation is way too shallow and the video screen is so big it is distracting. I have been to numerous...
