    UConn Fan Checking In

Well, it would be nice if the discussion about the basketball game didn't keep coming back to a football fan.

    UConn Fan Checking In

Yes, yes, I am aware that the #2 basketball memory is an incident that happened at a football game.

You watched that game and came out thinking it had any offensive flow?

Oh goodness, that's... uh... some serious number crunching you've done there. I'll definitely take your word over a statistician's.

That's an easy assertion to toss out there if you're not going to back it up with anything. His stats are well-respected, so at least give some kind of cogent thought to go with it.

    Dynasty in the making?

I thought the qualifications for being a dynasty was if someone missed a windmill dunk in the final seconds of an 8/9 game that you won... =)

    UConn Fan Checking In

I think that's a factor of watching a Cincy game. They have great defense and no offense, so the game just grinds to a halt no matter who they play.

    UConn Fan Checking In

ISU fans really have become obsessed with that moment. At first I thought it was just a random dig from a couple people, but it's the #1 thing that gets mentioned it seems. If UConn loses, I'll have a little smile knowing ISU will be able to add another minor basketball memory to their...

Is UConn a better match up for us than UNC?

Just a note, in the last 5 games (AAC tournament + NCAA tournament) Brimah's numbers are 6.4 ppg, 5 rpg, 2 bpg, 24 min pg. He's basically improved every game.

He does more than that, but I'm no expert. You can read a brief summary here. http://kenpom.com/blog/index.php/weblog/entry/ratings_glossary

I think he's probably talking about stats such as on kenpom, where UConn is #10 in tempo free defensive efficiency, and Iowa State is #58.

Go read the "MSG experience" topic.

    The MSG experience. A primer.

I think we can agree that Americans are bad at geography no matter where they live. When I lived in Rhode Island I met people who didn't know what town they lived in.

The mascot thing sounds awful, but I have to admit I only heard of it for the first time coming here today, since I couldn't care less about football.

I guess... I think the guy who made this topic is a moron, but his description of Iowa was more on the ignorant side than the malicious side.

    The MSG experience. A primer.

I think I've been respectful to the respectful ISU fans. I totally think this topic was made in poor taste and that the topic creator deserves all the bashing he got, but at the same time, he didn't actually insult Iowa State or its fans.

    The MSG experience. A primer.

I thought it was clear that by calling it as a "sweeping generalization" that I was making fun of him, and that I wasn't actually suggesting it applied to all people from Iowa. Perhaps that didn't read well.

I completely agree that your hatred for 3 million people is justified on the basis of these experiences.

Since we're making sweeping generalizations, I can see that my impression of people from Iowa as being thoughtful and measured in their responses to trolling is spot on.
