Lengthy process to get the license is my understanding, talking a few months. Also if you're thinking herbicides its a quite poor option. Just too many gallons of water needed per acre for most products to be remotely worthwhile.

Yes, we have hired commercial application of fungicide. The practice is common in our area, several independent operators available. They involve two people and two drones. One guy sits under a “tailgate canopy” watching a screen while he operates a drone in the field while the other guy is charging and filling the spray tank for the next rotation. Pretty efficient and no crop damage. We apply by airplane/helicopter too and I think the drone is more accurate. The airplane covers more acres quicker but the drone can cover irregular and small fields much better. Helicopters are better than airplanes.
I was in contact with Terraplex last year as I figured it might be a fun side gig but it didn't work out as when it is time to go it is time to go and not necessarily a just nights and weekends type gig. Seen a lot of videos though and it is interesting and fairly impressive what they can do with the tech.

Peas are a tough one. When tenderometer readings say go, these guys have only a day or two to get in there and get it done.
Buddy of mine farmed up in S central Minnesota sweet cornpickers one summer left tracks dang near knee deep on the end rows from pulling things through. I only saw the damage not the actual act. Not his fields but a neighbor's.
I think, I could be wrong here, but sugar beets go to be harvested before freezes? I know it has to be before the ground freezes for sure.
Nope. Worked for Gerber for over a decade and those readings were critical. At least for us.That just sounds like you're making **** up.
Ex wife’s family grew sweet corn and peas every year. Summer meant a decent amount of time with a ripper after fields were tore to hell. Have gone up and helped in wet years where even the catch carts needed two tractors on them at all times let alone getting semis in and out.
As a no tiller it hurt just to be a part of it
Went out for a drive with my 95 year old ex farmer great uncle. Definitely a few areas showing a bit of stress from this heat, areas with compaction or that had held water have some corn curling.
Our corn planted April 11th has just taken off this past 7-10 days, over my head now and at least based on the first few hundred feet(too hot to scout too deep) absolutely immaculate in terms of early disease problems. Not even to tassel so plenty of season left to go wrong but always nice when you don't start with issues.
