No one likely thought this would be a win. The ladies fought hard despite all of the self-inflicted wounds.

Thanks for the write up. I was on the road for work and heard most of the men's game on the radio.

Thanks for the write up.

I’m thinking for the foreseeable future there should be a lot of effort in keep a team together for when they are older. ISU men post Prom have made a lot of hay by just being pretty old. Not sure how you achieve that, but it’s a really great advantage even when you don’t have superstars

I really looked forward to this game. I expected a hard fought close game. But after about 5 minutes I don't think there was any question how it was going to turn out. The last several games it was starting to look like ISU was starting to come together and play like the early season expectations. But I guess this game pretty much brought everything back down to earth.

There sure were a lot of FOWLS in this here game. Around 40 called I think. So many FOWLS I was thinking I should have brought my shotgun. One thing about WBB officials, they are either over sensitive in their calls or they swallow the whistle. Sometimes both in the same game.

ISU needs to bring in an impact player from the transfer portal this offseason. Hard to see them being much better next year if they don't.

BF needs to actually use our timeouts. I know they have more value towards the end of the game with advancement, but taking 3 timeouts home today does absolutely nothing.

I could sure agree with that. The deal is there will be no more than 10 - 15 super star game changers. They will all be snatched up by ND, LSU, UCLA, UConn etc etc. But there will be another 20 - 40 that could improve any middle of the road team. Grab a pair of them and things can change. If you want to talk about a team that will absolutely have to get at least 3, but hopefully 4 portal players to be competitive next year, it's Baylor. they are losing 5 - 6 players at least maybe more. One freshman coming in. So if they don't do well in the portal, next year will be a horse of another color.

Agree. Lots of Big 12 teams loaded with super seniors. I am PRAYING that we get Nichols from KU. Think it is a long shot, but just have a weird feeling she will hit the portal. I really hope we get a speedy PG who can create. We have the pieces around them for that, so hoping we can attract someone.

A scoring point guard would be nice to get. Someone that can do what Ryan does but more quickness. If this team brings its core back next year there is no reason they won’t be picked for and should win the Big 12.

The thing that bothers me most about band wagon fans is that most don't seem to understand the game. The title of the thread is spot on COLD SHOOTING was the reason for the loss. When you go1-14 from the 3 point line and the other team goes 9-19 that is 24 points you are behind.
21 turnovers had just as much to with the loss as cold shooting did.

They were co-favorites to win the conference this season and and if they don’t get a Q1 win over the next two weeks, they might not even make the NCAAs. Quite the leap to suggest they should win the B12 next season.

I get the loss of Hare and Ryan’s health had a negative impact but more troubling has been the lack of significant individual improvement from the rest of the players with the possible exception of Joens and that issue has been reflected in W-L results so far.

I’d be shocked if we didn’t have major retention issues. 2 years appears to be the shelf life for most girls anymore under BF.

I really hope we can stave that off, but I am in agreement with you. If we can keep all the Fab Four I’d consider that a big win.

I have my suspicions on who we won’t see again next year.

The turn overs hurt for sure. This season we have had 5 games with 20 or more turn overs. Do you know what 4 of them have in common? They were all away games and ones with pressure and if you believe some on here the home team gets favorable calls. We lost 4 of the 5 games and that is an area that needs to be addressed.

The WBB team has always struggled against physical teams that can pressure. This has gone on long before this season. Audi has also struggled against lengthy physical post players. I am not one that normally criticizes the coaching staff, but by now they should know that, and the game plan should depend less on Audi for those games. The ladies will win in the post season until they run into one of those physical pressure teams.
