Chris Williams and Brent Blum focus on the big picture after No. 8 Iowa State’s beat down on Colorado before diving into potential seeding scenarios, how the rest of the Big 12 is looking, and an important update on CyTown. Closing out the show with a special interview from the Aer Lingus College Football Classic’s Brendan Meehan. Presented by Mechdyne.

Enjoy!

While it would be way better for recruitment to be in Milwaukee. It's funny to me how CW acted like Wichita is such a long ways when it is nearly equidistant for fans from DSM as Milwaukee.

Wichita is also drivable for KC and Dallas clones.

Like they talked about on the pod, Wichita is an interesting site this year because it is the closest first weekend location to Texas. We would be competing with Texas A&M and Houston for Wichita. I think that if we are highly enough ranked to beat out both of those teams, we would be higher ranked than Wisconsin and Purdue.

Dropping below Wisconsin and Purdue would likely also place us below Houston and Texas A&M.

I still think we are almost locked into a top 3 seed, which would still give us some preference on where we end up; with the third closest site being Denver.

I believe that if we drop low enough to lose out on Milwaukee, we will likely end up in Denver, not Wichita.

@ChrisMWilliams is so out of touch with Ames!

Glad your microphone got cut off shortly after that silly statement!

There are at least three nice family restaurants within walking distance of The Café: Wallabys, El Azteca, Wasabi (and we used to have Brick City Grill). And that’s just one pocket in town.

Why wouldn’t you take your family to The Café? It’s filled with families most evenings. Sounds more like a “you” problem!

Selfishly I want Denver for the first weekend. But hoping we get Milwaukee. If seeding shakes out it’s not like we’d be playing Bucky the first weekend.

Wichita isn’t that bad of a drive from DSM. Like Blum said, once you get past Emporia you can go 100 MPH on the turnpike and still be consider keeping up with the flow of traffic

Wichita is probably the easier drive at least for those of us in southern Iowa. As long as you hit KC at a decent time, it’s an easy drive.

The Cosmosphere in nearby Hutchinson is great

As a Wichita resident that'd be amazing, but not getting my hopes up. And no, it's not as absurdly south as implied. 5 hours and change drive time from my door to DSM, no more than 6 all the way to Ames. Hell it was below zero this morning, so it's not "the South" :D

The good thing about all these SEC teams being ranked so high, Milwaukee should be pretty free for the Cyclones.

Lexington, Raleigh, Cleveland, and even Wichita and Providence are closer to all these SEC schools (and Duke, Houston) than Milwaukee.

We probably just need to stay ahead of one of Purdue or Wisconsin to lock up Milwaukee.
