My husband and I saw several tailgates with ISU mats. They looked nice-especially for those tailgates that were set up on grass/landscape chips. I looked for them online, but am coming up empty. If you have them, where did you find them?

That’s what I kept finding when I searched. The ones we saw yesterday were more like a woven bamboo, or at least that is how they looked. I am going to call the Sam’s Club in Ames and see if they still have some-although I might be too late!

FWIW - We have the woven bamboo style mat from Sam's and it looks good, but it doesn't lay flat on the ground and people trip over it a lot. We eventually stopped using it because it was a pain. Based on our experience, I'd recommend this:

There is also a really cool one at the University Book Store in the Union that goes together like a puzzle-style floor mat. I believe that one is more expensive (can't find it online) and it may be annoying to put together and take apart, but it looks sweet and lays flat, unlike the Sam's one.

Welcome to the Internet?

But also, lmgtfy is kind of a thing.

Is there a place where I can park in a pubic lot, find a place to eat in Ames, buy tickets, buy a car, refinance a house, etc.?

If only we had unlimited access to information. That would be crazy.

Just curious, what is wrong with the grass or concrete that you need a mat? Admittedly I roll pretty simple (cooler) but this seems a little like playing house and I am genuinely curious.

Good Lord, Get over yourself.

Your examples are far less specific than what was asked for here — a particular style of Cyclone mat — and which was eventually and thoroughly answered to everyone’s apparent satisfaction but yourself. And it seems to have been asked by a parent of a current Cyclone football player. How rude.

That seems like an entirely appropriate query. I see no reason you had to respond at all.

To be fair your “argument” is fairly common on this board, a combination of a strawman, and ad hominem or personal attack:

Description of Straw Man
The Straw Man fallacy is committed when a person simply ignores a person's actual position and substitutes a distorted, exaggerated or misrepresented version of that position. This sort of "reasoning" has the following pattern:
  1. Person A has position X.
  2. Person B presents position Y (which is a distorted version of X).
  3. Person B attacks position Y.
  4. Therefore X is false/incorrect/flawed.
This sort of "reasoning" is fallacious because attacking a distorted version of a position simply does not constitute an attack on the position itself. One might as well expect an attack on a poor drawing of a person to hurt the person.

Why would anyone ask for help finding a specific kind of Cyclone mat — on a message board called Cyclone Fanatic? That she apparently saw at the season opening Cyclone home football game just yesterday?

Or, another example, why ask for information here about buying a new truck?

Good news: Someone here eventually found what she was looking for!!

Kids like to sit on the ground and play so the 9x9 mat is perfect for us.
