Hey all,
First post and new member here. I went to the B12 tournament last year and plan to go for a couple days again this year. Prob like the Thurs - Friday night games. Anywho....Last year I just found some tickets off Stub Hub or some secondary market. My question is do any of you just go and buy tickets off the street before the games? Seemed like last year I talked to a Cyclone fan that has had some success doing that. Just wondering your opinions on that and success stories. Thanks all.

I've done it a few times, but it can get pricey since we travel so well. If you can manage to catch a fan of a losing team as they are leaving the arena, that is your best bet. If you are dealing with scalpers and KU or KState is still in it and in our session, be prepared to get fleeced hard. And most of the guys outside of Sprint Center are working together to make sure they get as much as possible.

As an example, a few years ago when we were facing Baylor in the Championship game, my boss had gotten two free suite tickets that he gave me. I needed one more to get my daughter in and thought I could get a cheap single somewhere. I think I ended up paying around $85-$90 for a nosebleed single.

Been going since 1985 (except for OKC years) and here is my advice.

(1) Never buy all-session tickets on secondary market (Stubhub, etc) unless they are face value or close to it. Your first session tickets on Wednesday will be virtually worthless (unless ISU is playing, ugh).

(2) Market is dependent 100% on bracket. If ISU and KU are in the same sessions on Thursday, tickets will not be cheap. If ISU and KU are in separate Thursday brackets, ISU session tickets can probably be had for face value. Wild card is KSU. Add them in on the same session in a year they are good (this year), and prices go up.

So, basically, too early to tell.

(3) Friday night semi's can be more expensive than Saturday championship if KU and ISU (and KSU) advance. If ISU or KU does not make championship on Saturday, ticket prices are back down close to face value.

(4) Personally, I have always had decent luck working with the scalpers. They are plentiful at the Sprint Center. I would only do StubHub if you are the type of person that is willing to pay extra for the peace of mind of not hassling with scalpers.

(5) Best bet is to buy your tickets inside the Sprint Center from fans of a losing team (once you are in). They are generally friendly and will treat you fair.

My two cents. Curious if others agree.
