Iowa State will be hosting a Junior Day this weekend with the men's hoops team taking on Oklahoma State at Hilton Coliseum on Saturday. Here are a few of the prospects I'm hearing will be in attendance.
Aidan Bouman, Quarterback
The three-star prospect from Minnesota was the first player to commit to Iowa State's 2020 recruiting class. This will be at least his second trip to Ames since committing to the program last June.
Cole Pederson, Linebacker
Another of the Cyclones' early 2020 commitments, Pederson is currently considered the No. 4 in-state prospect by 247Composite. The Leon native has been committed to the program since July.
Josh Volk, Offensive Lineman
Along with committed Greene County tackle Tyler Miller, Volk is one of the state's top lineman prospects for the 2020 cycle. The Cedar Rapids native visited Ames in December and continues to garner interest from several programs across the Midwest, including also holding an offer from Iowa.
Blaise Gunnerson, Defensive End
The Kuemper Catholic product missed his junior season due to injury but has still seen his recruitment pick up over the last several months. This will be at least his fourth trip to Ames since picking up an offer from the Cyclones last June. He's also added offers from Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska in that time span.
Drake Heismeyer, Offensive Lineman
The Saint Charles, Mo. native has made several trips to Ames already and has picked up interest from several other schools around the Midwest. It sounds as though Iowa State and Missouri have been two of the early standouts in his recruitment.
TJ Bollers, Defensive End
While Bollers is not a 2020 prospect, the 2021 Clear Creek Amana product looks to be one of the program's top targets early in that cycle. Along with the Cyclones, he also already holds offers from Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota. He has the potential to be a big fish type prospect for the Cyclones in the 2021 cycle.
