Jacob Park - Medical Redshirt?

Is it possible that if Jacob's issue is truly medical, was the timing on purpose for a medical redshirt?

I believe the rule is you can not play more than 30% of the season, and he would have exactly played 30%.

I was thinking bowl game as well, I guess 4/13 games would be 30.7% so I guess we need to be in big 12 title game as well, depending on how specific they are.

It's in the NCAA Manual.

12.8.4.3.6.2 Fraction in Percent Computation.
Any computation of the percent limitation that results in a fractional portion of a contest or date of competition shall be rounded to the next whole number (e.g., 30 percent of a 29-game basketball schedule—8.7 games—shall be considered nine games). (Revised: 1/14/97 effective 8/1/97, 4/26/07, 7/31/14)

Interesting. I would of never guessed the NCAA would do something to favor the athlete.

Cue beginning of standard discussion regarding medical redshirt vs. 6th year vs. blahbie bloobie redshirt that no one really understands but then some guy will still say "it's really not that complicated . . . "
