    Wish me luck

Updating based on another poster's question today... 9+ years sober. It's easy now but it was hard then. Especially socially more than the physical aspect of drinking. But as you age you realize more people DONT drink than do drink.

Advice for quitting drinking for a month

Damn near 10 years sober and it began with a similar post to yours. DM for a more private chat if you want but the reality is if you're asking this you already know what the end goal is here. It's just hard to commit to getting there but you CAN do it. Absolutely. Best wishes...

    Seven years sober. Wow.

Company changed my duties at work. Unhappy and wondering what to do.

Without getting into specifics, one of the senior partners in my firm passed away unexpectedly. His wife was his division's secretary so she's not coming back either as she deals with her loss. That is a ton of institutional knowledge suddenly gone. The remaining partners have asked me to learn...

    Wish me luck

Hi all, going on 4 years now. Just dropped in to say I realize how many friends I've lost since I stopped drinking. It's made me a bit sad but its certainly not a reason to start again. I see pictures from people doing things I used to do but haven't called me in 2 years to participate...

BUS TRIP: Hit the road for Lawrence with Cyclone Fanatic!

I don't drink. For some reason I still have massive headache the next morning after games, though.

    NA beer

Glad to hear this, regardless of reason. I do not drink NA beers because it makes me long for regular beer. It is easier (for me) to stay away from the temptation than tempt it.

    Wish me luck

Hi guys. Two years sober. :) I'll probably stop posting in here as much because there aren't many temptations left I haven't faced and my personal updates are pretty boring now! Thanks again for all your well wishes and support. As always, my "door" is always open to continue conversations...

Steve Sarkisian Files Suit Against USC - Wrongful Termination

Exactly 18 months sober today. I can't comment on getting fired from a job due to drinking but I absolutely can comment that an alcoholic either hits rock bottom and goes to rehab or there is an external force in his life making him rethink his choices. Whether or not alcoholism is a disease...

    Wish me luck

Good morning all. Just popped in to say there have been many of you who have messaged me with either well-wishes or seeking advice/reassurance with their own struggles. Thank you for the continued support and to those who wonder about themselves - now is the best time to quit. You're never...

    Wish me luck

This is totally random but yesterday I ran across an old drinking buddy and he asked when I'm going to start drinking again. I told him hopefully never. He didn't understand it and thought my "cleanse" had gone on long enough. I asked if he was going to stop and he said he's trying to cut...

    Wish me luck

Today has marked one whole year of sobriety. Oddly enough I spent yesterday at the same place as I took my last drink but I didn't even miss the alcohol. As many people mentioned, the first month or so was the hardest. After that it became -not easy- but quite simple. Knowing I'm not...
