I don't know if anyone can remember, but Keshon was playing like an All-American in the preseason before Curtis really took off. He could get to the paint basically anytime he wanted, was making something like 65% of his two-point field goals and was constantly getting to the free throw line. What a tough player, he had his face bloodied in at least two games and just kept smiling. As far as I'm concerned, Keshon is an all-time great Cyclone. I'm not ready to give up on this team, I still think we can make a run. Next man up.

Big 12 has been guilty of this before, but I'm betting the SEC underperforms. The "best conf in the country" creates a self fulfilling prophecy at some point.
SEC teams should have all have a giant target on them from every other conference this tournament. Gotta go prove the committee wrong.

He was putting himself into a National POTY discussion. He wouldn't have gotten past Broome and Flagg, but he was right there.
Might as well win a couple and see what happens.

UNC won 2 games the entire year against teams in the tournament, UCLA and American. The 2 committee guys are on ESPN now trying to justify it by saying they scheduled a tough non-conference. I guess it doesn't matter they went 1-5 against those teams.

As crazy as this sounds I wonder if they decided a healthy Kelderman is a better option than a hurt Keshon and that caused them to shut him down.

The few times we’ve seen Keshon lately he’s just completely lacked explosion and was a turnover liability. Keldermen will give you good effort and keep the ball moving

All time greats play in the biggest games even when hurt. He was a good player here.

Iowa State's first opportunity should be Ole Miss in the 2nd Round if the First Round seeds hold.

KG is out and that sucks, but let’s shift the vibes and get fired up!

We have a very favorable draw.

CUJO looks like his old self again.

The presidents looked dominant last week.

Heise has been a positive contributor down the stretch.

Milan has looked more and more like a guy that can take over games.

Tamin may be slow but he’s probably one of the toughest dudes I’ve ever seen play.

Most importantly we can game plan around this now that we aren’t waiting until day of to figure out if KG will play.

Hear me out:

25th anniversary of "the blarge".
In back to back games we could exorcise the demons of playing MSU in Auburn Hills.

It's a stretch, but I don't hate this draw at all.
See what you did there - and I like it! Back then we almost beat the best team to get to the Final 4. Let's beat the overall #1 seed to get to San Antonio.

I'm not going to add much more to UNC resume-bashing (I've posted my view previously in this thread and elsewhere recently). I'll refrain partly because of sports "superstititioning," since NC is in ISU's region, and I'd say is good enough to bounce SDSU and Ole Miss.

...so you're saying UNC will get their 2nd and 3rd Q1 wins of the year?

The 6 teams they played include #1 seed Auburn, #1 seed Florida, #2 seed Alabama and #2 seed Michigan State. They could have scheduled and played four lesser teams that were still in the Tournament and had a much better overall record and a solid record vs. Tournament teams. I think they simply were given the benefit of the doubt of being for playing 4 Major Teams that are all National Title contenders + @ Kansas and UCLA.

FWIW, ISU went 1-2 vs. this group of six Power OOC games they played. Not a UNC fan, but I think it is good they are in the Tournament. With all of the micro talk about Q1 and Q2 games with schools like Penn State, K-State and Okla. State (I think UNC would have beaten all 3), they are being recognized for the four bad ass teams they played OOC.

I will not be shocked if they beat San Diego State and Ole Miss and meet up with ISU @ Milwaukee. That would be a tough, tough game for Iowa State IMO.
