*** Official #12 IOWA STATE vs #17 BYU Game(Day) Thread ***

If you are shorthanded you have to value the ball and the bad habits of ISU not valuing the ball really gets magnified in a game like this.
We have one turnovers. We are valuing the ball.

You just have no chance giving the best shooting team in the league open 3s eeverywhere. The only chance we have to ever beat BYU with our defensive philosophy is they shoot terrible and the stats say that's unlikely.

Playing a trap defense against BYU is.... not ideal.
Yes, I know it's TJ's bread n butter defense. But BYU shredded the traps a couple weeks ago. We're short 2 guards- we need to play straight up man defense. It's more important to contest 3's than cause TO's.

Offense is going to be tough if we can't get fast-break and post points.

The dumb fouls from Dishon and Jefferson cannot happen if we’re to have a chance

Can't afford to be missing these layups and dunks. Anyways the most important thing is to get healthy, this game doesn't really matter, besides pride.

A dramatic reminder that good offense beats good defense - especially at this time of the season. BYU is a well-oiled, confident machine. We look like we’re built from spare parts

A ways to go talent-wise
Two of our best defenders are injured.

We just swatted them at the rim and led to a run out dunk for ISU. BYU is just not missing from 3pt.

Was wondering this too. Said he was going to jump on like an hour after the postgame show yesterday for an injury update but never did. Been checking all morning and nothing.
He had a very short update video on YouTube.

Love what we're seeing from J-Jeff. Not sure we can win this without Lispey and KG, but if we can get everyone else right heading into next week ill take it.
