F1 2024 Discussion

Was looking at the schedule and noticed they have another near month break again from Sept 22 to Oct. 20. Any certain reason for this?
 
Lando might make this championship interesting by the time they get to Texas in a couple months.

In unrelated news. JFC what is wrong with HAAS.

Wasn't there something weird there with a US company paying a Russian company with the Ukrainian war sanctions? It looks like they paid and their stuff was released though.
 
Man, I wish it we're closer right now because we could have had a real title fight going. It could be more like a 50 point gap if not for a few things in the last handful of races
  • Max completely taking Lando out in Austria - Lando DNF and Max still gets 5th (10 points), worst case Max finish's 1st and Lando 2nd so that's 3 points closer, or Lando gets the overtake done and that's a 17 point swing from actual
  • Hungary team orders fiasco, that's 7 more points Lando could have
  • McLaren botching Spa set-up - definitely should have finished higher up the grid and ahead of Max
Still, really a Max DNF or a bad weekend or two away from a real close finish if this keeps up. Always possible though as DNF's can hit at any time and since there are a couple tracks that Red Bull will struggle with, specifically Singapore.

A Max DNF would really make things interesting. Otherwise it feels like too much, Lando would have to be perfect over the next 9 races. Think there's a decent chance it goes all the way to Abu Dhabi though.

I think you could have Piastri out with the flu for a week and bring in the Russian Torpedo Daniil Kvyat. Things would work themselves out.
 
I would not be suprised to see Liam Lawson taking over the Williams for the remainder to the season. They seemed so fed up with Logan and I dont' blame them. When he isn't crashing he can't even keep close to his teamate .
 
Lawson was the kid who filled in last year right? That guy seems pretty talented.

Logan Sargent is out for (checks notes) Franco Colapinto?
Sure feels like there are a lot better drivers out there than another F2 guy in that seat.

Mick isn’t good and this guy should presumably know the car already.
