McLaren already showed off their livery for '24, and we're just a couple weeks out from everyone doing their reveals so I guess it's time to start a new thread.

Damn I wish they went with the insane idea in Madrid to have a partial section indoors. Just for the lawsuits of 5k people bursting their ear drums at once.

You beat me to it.

News this morning is that F1 has told Andretti to pound sand until at least 2028.

I smell a really messy lawsuit. The Concorde agreement outlined requirements for entry, Andretti met those requirements and was denied. The EU evidently has anticompetitive laws that come into play as well.

I think that Concorde agreement will be rewritten before 2028 as well. Something tells me the new entry fee is going to be enough that it doesn’t make sense to bid.

I agree this could get ugly in a hurry especially with GM back Andretti here. They've got some massive resources that they could use to drop the hammer on F1 if they want to.

I can just see Andretti doing the leg work to get GM heavily involved in F1 and then F1 deciding the new entry fee is some astronomical number. **** is gonna hit the fan and I don’t see Andretti backing down. I just hope GM doesn’t end up pulling the plug and cutting their losses.

Boooo

So the tl;dr is they don't think they'll add value and think it'll be hard for a new team and engine supplier to start the year before a major rules reset.

I agree that this is going to be drug out in the courts for awhile, maybe it makes a Haas buyout more likely.

I was a Haas fan at first but they just need to nuke them from orbit.

Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari after this season. Now we’re cooking. Leclerc/Hamilton will be a fun pairing if they get a decent car to go with it.

Interesting to keep Andretti out, all the while, looking to push into more US cities for races.

F1 Applies for Chicago Race Trademarks

I've been an F1 fan as long as I can remember, but I'm finally starting to get turned off by their constant BS. The races are already boring enough, they need to get more teams on the grid.

Red Bull, Ferrari, and Mercedes don't want Andretti because they can beat the crap out of terrible teams like Haas. F1 is gonna start losing viewers. The Netflix pump can only last so long if the field is so lopsided.

It's a bummer. I certainly would pay more attention to F1 if there was a legitimate American team. I hope Andretti keeps pushing.

At the end of the day, IndyCar is a better racing product despite not being where the money is. Maybe this drives some American eyes that way.

Serious question. I agree Indy Car is better racing. Why don't Indy car do a Netflix style show. That is a huge deal in this day and age. Getting to know the driver's, the behind the scenes guy is a huge deal now.

They did one this past year called '100 Days to Indy'. It was on the CW - which is obviously a less trafficked medium, but in the days of streaming pretty much anyone can find it (if they know about it). It was a good watch... Documented several drivers and teams in the lead up to the 500. Worth a watch. The key is getting that series to a broader audience. I've heard rumblings of a 2nd season.

Saw those rumors will flying around again. That would set up us for a good silly season.
This time seems like the real deal. Front page story lots of places and all the F1 twitter ITKs reporting it as done deal.
