So he starts in '25 and it sounds like he's focusing on the '26 car. Alonso in a Newey designed car should be pretty entertaining.

But how long before Newey can make a difference and will Fernando be there to see the success. I can't see him making that quick of an immediate impact.

Aston is the only team that would take Newey on the terms Newey want's. He'll pretend that he turned down everyone else, but he's in his mid-60's, wants a massive paycheck, to work essentially part time and to call all his own shots. Lawrence Stroll is the only guy desperate enough to accept that.

I remain incredibly skeptical that this will be successful. Especially with Lance Stroll and a 45 year old Alonso in at the wheel and no idea how the Honda PU will perform in 2026.

Alonzo will be fine. It's Lance. Lance didn't do anyting when Fernando was hitting all those podiams last season at the start of the year. Lance is probably the lowest rated driver going into next year. Minus the rookies.
