With the addition of Baylor, there will be 3 B12 teams.Don’t they typically limit these tournaments to one team per conference?

I am surprised Beth doesn’t have them wear wigs and Iowa 22 uniforms next year.Yea !
And the stupid Sukeyes think they are trying to capitalize on what WE HAVE in KC . They have a terrible MBB team …. No one will go watch them….. not even their own dum ass fans .

Looks like there is proposed NCAA legislation on that right now
"(c) Participation is limited, by conference, to one team per conference and, by institution, to not more than once in the same event in any four-year period, except that two teams from the same conference may participate in the same three-contest (eight-team) event, provided the two teams are on opposite sides of the bracket and the same conference is not represented by two teams more than once in the same event in a four-year period. Only one conference may have two teams participate in the same threecontest (eight-team) event annually"
How does this have anything to do with what this thread is about??Yea !

This isn’t a typical tournament.Don’t they typically limit these tournaments to one team per conference?
It also looks like an invite one year can lead to multiple consecutive years. I don't think it can be overstated how huge getting a foot in the door to this event is.i don't know what goes into getting an invite to this event, but it's big time that we got one. tells you where otz has taken/is taking this program.

That said, my travel budget for next fall is going to be devastating between this and Ireland.
2024 and 2025 are different years.so we are in Maui this year, correct? Or did we pull out of Maui to join the Vegas tournament?
7 of the 8 teams competing in 2024 are back for 2025. The only one who isn't returning is Oregon, who's currently committed to play in Maui. They're expanding the field for 2025 with the goal of forming a tournament with international-style group play to set up a single elimination tournament.Defending champ has to be invited back to defend their title right?
Yes.Damn! I always go to Vegas at the end of January since my girlfriend has a work conference and I tag along since I'm a degenerate gambler. Is going to Vegas twice in a three month span a good idea...or a terrible idea?
If the NIL world has taught us anything, it's that extra money is almost always additive and not a replacement. My guess is any extra NIL cash from a 2025 Vegas tournament will be on top of the already-in-place arrangements. Maybe WeWill will be able to re-allocate some cash from basketball, but I bet not much.Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Blum say the NIL budget for WeWill this year was $6-7 million? This event is going to pay for half the basketball team, incredible.
You're probably right. If the reports of top end players getting $2 million are accurate, at least this may allow ISU to continue to exist in the middle class for another year or two, and then who knows what the landscape will look like.If the NIL world has taught us anything, it's that extra money is almost always additive and not a replacement. Hopefully it raises the BB NIL budget 50%.Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Blum say the NIL budget for WeWill this year was $6-7 million? This event is going to pay for half the basketball team, incredible.
