*** Official Lindenwood vs IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

I'm intrigued to see how Curtis Jones does throughout these first few games. I think he is going to be extremely streaky on the offensive end. He can do some other things (decent size, can handle the ball, etc.) but I worry he has a little KJ Bluford in him (a chucker).
He's already proven it on a higher level than Bluford though and has better size to get those shots up cleanly too.

I cant wait to get season tickets again, call me crazy and its for games like this with a young family. I will love taking my young family to a game thats a little more laid back, get the kids excited about the Cyclones and then until they are older I'll grab the bigger games with other couples!

He was victimized by ****** referring but he needs to learn to adapt (as that will happen). That was a massive frustration last year, when referees set the tone and our players would keep playing the same way. Do that and the only thing you'll be doing is riding the pine (with foul trouble).

Hopefully our athleticism helps keep us out of those situations a bit (and the depth) but I'd like for us to show we can adapt if and when we encounter it, which willy likely happen (at least) a few times during the season.
Or an alternative look is playing like a Huggins coached West Virginia team knowing they can't call them all.

100% agree. Any Cyclone MBB is must watch for me regardless of the opponent or season. And yes, that does include the 2-22 debacle season. Admittedly I may have watched some of those games after the fact rather than live, but I still watched every single one.
I watched them all and my goal was to see the Cyclones crawl back to single digits in the second half before falling back.

Maybe a hot take... The 2-22 would win 10 games with this schedule. It took the perfect circumstances for us to have that record. Would never happen again.

Ok now back to Lindenwood :)

Lose/lose situation to play the Skers regardless of who their coach is.

Win and you beat the worst major conference program in basketball history. Lose and you lost to the worst major conference program in basketball history.
You're right. I'd much rather have Lindenwood on our schedule. A game against Fred would absolutely suck. Who'd wanna see that?

Fred is the only reason anybody would care about scheduling the worst basketball program in college basketball history. I'm not denying that would be interesting if he doesn't leave or doesn't get fired.

If he wasn't there Nebraska would be sub 200, maybe sub 300, on my "excitement" meter for opponents. South Dakota State has matched their NCAA tournament appearances/record and they've only been division one for a few years.

They are so bad that the strength of the Big 12 noticeably took an upward leap when they left.

Ouch. I thought us fans had a gentlemen's agreement to never bring up that season again.

You are correct it was a perfect match of lack of talent, bad chemistry, and injuries that lead to that season. Even then that team had multiple winnable games that had bad breaks to result in L's.

Back to ignoring that year and on to Lindenwood.

Agree that season should not be talked about but you also forgot one other point, bad coaching. Sure makes me appreciate what this staff is doing

He probably didn't like BRE's BPM of +20 for the game (2nd high on the team to Milan's)
Oh he would go on about it being more than the numbers. BRE disrupts the flow - which was obvious to anyone watching - team really struggled playing together.

Which probably still puts them at 0-fer in the conference and 20 losses on a full schedule.
