Not saying I disagree. What I am saying is we clearly can't run the ball with what they have been trying to do so quit trying to shove a round peg thru a square hole.
I am puzzled by some of the calls but I think sometimes it is execution by the players. better blocking by the line would help. something is not right . maybe the chemistry for some reason is not there. don't know not at practice or in the locker room to see what is happening.
Same problems year-in, year-out. No longer covered up by elite RB play. I think I can probably identify the problem but people don't want to hear it.
Watch most of today’s game. First time in a while. We have very bad players on offense. Not calling anyone out but let’s hope there is a major infusion of talent next year.
It should be a constant competition at all positions...nobody should just get their turn due to seniority...I think Dekkers is probably the best QB on the roster at this point. Hopefully Kohl gets a legit shot.
So if anyone wants to be depressed - watch Tennessee play offense. The reason I say this is the play caller for Tennessee is one, Alex Golesh.

Tennessee went from 108 to 7th in scoring offense last year.
And obviously is having another great year.
The reason I mention this - 2019 is the year that Tom Manning returned from Indianapolis. Coincidence? IDK. But my word - do I feel like it'd be nice to have Golesh back but I'm sure that day is long gone. He left after Manning's first season back.

But this is 100% Huepel's system. Golesh may be good, but he's just calling what Huepel has drawn up. Nothing prior to his time with Huepel matches the offense they're running but matches what Huepel has done.
No he is not, Heupel calls the plays. You can see Heupel calling them in every play.
Huepel and him talk, yes, but I have it on reasonably good authority from a current SEC team staff member that Golesh actually calls plays. Former Big 12 school that now is the SEC. Does that mean every play? IDK.
It is Huepel's system yes - that there is no doubt.
And also, that's a cop out to say its his system... because this isn't really Manning's system then but Campbell's. So that's a bit of a non-starter.
You're either good at attacking a defense and calling plays or your not. The idea that you didn't draw up the play means nothing. Anyone can draw something on a white board. Can you identify which defender is in conflict, which area of the defense is weakest and can you call the play that takes advantage of that, that is everything.
I guarantee you Tom Manning can draw some pretty plays on a white board. But he can't call plays in rythm
I told everyone I know that if Manning called the game he called against Texas, we win. If he called today's game like he did against the Kansas schools, we'd lose. And guess what that idiot did. He had a bye week to prep for THE WORST DEFENSE IN THE BIG 12, and called the game like he did against the Kansas schools and we mustered 13 freaking points.
Well, in fairness, we scored 21 against Oklahoma in the CCG. With a team that featured several NFL players on it. And that defense wasn't any good either.
Somebody may just not be very good at their job.
I think I called about 40% of our plays when we were at the line of scrimmage today, and I don’t know s*%T about football compared to a D1 defensive coordinator. Imagine how easy their job is when they play us .
Exactly - heck even UNI has been able to produce NFL OL a couple times in the last decade. That is how bad our OL development and recruiting has been.
As someone who doesn't really follow recruiting, given he was our recruiting coordinator, has there been any appreciable effect from that loss?

Run some end arounds, jet sweeps...then fake like you are doing those things but run it up the middle. How about a gadget play every a quarter or half even? The tempo is so predictable too, hike the ball with about 10 seconds on the play clock...maybe just maybe, run a series up tempo, nah. The opposing D knows exactly what's coming, our boys never have a chance.
