98 - 00 was in there a lot because my uncle and his friends played pool there after work. Fun Fact: Broke up with a girlfriend in that parking lot.

Anybody remember Mister Donut on the west side of Duff near where the old bowling alley used to be? Seems like it might have been in front of The Fox Lounge.

Regular from 01-03... $5 all you could drink Wednesday night.
And for years, Great Plains had the best display ad ever in the Iowa State Daily.
Every time this thread surfaces I think of some long gone favorites. Not just restaurants but bars too. These aren't all top notch places...but I miss them.

I particularly enjoy the discounts available for some undefined “orders of a significant amount.” What’s a ”significant amount”?
(There was a Mr. Donut in Rochester, Minnesota, when we lived there - while I don’t remember much, I bought doughnuts there several times, and doughnuts = happiness, so …)
A lot of all stars on this list.
One I wanted to comment on was Chinese Homestyle Cooking. I was pretty sheltered as a child when it came to food, my parents don't eat ANYTHING. This was my first introduction to any type of foreign food outside of like tacos. Now I know there are so many better chinese places out there (shout out to May House), but CHC had such incredible bang for your buck.
I loved CHC's mongolian beef. I never get it anywhere else because I haven't found anything that came close to it.
