All FB coaching rumors and speculation

Why would Urban be a better candidate than other names out there? His recent hiatus from CFB and his lack of success in the NFL doesn't exactly help his profile in recruiting. Seems that Kiffin is a bigger name right now and will run the type of offense that Oregon has thrived with.

IMo Urban Meyer is washed and if he takes another job it'll be for the payday and his effort level won't be that of a successful coach.
Because Urban really likes the college scene. Especially the bar scene.

That's why he bought a bar, but you don't need to be a rich coach to catch some tail. Just being rich is enough, and he's got that already. Just be some coed's sugar daddy and avoid the scrutiny.

I think Urban is juiced as well, but remember Nick Saban's lackluster run with the Miami Dolphins in '05 and '06...sandwiched between his success at LSU a season before, and then Bama after. Some coaches are just made for the college game.

I absolutely do not think we'll get Urban. It's just a complete pipe dream that is just that, a dream. I would rather take the chance he can rebound back to what he's been in college than a retread like Harsin or Wilcox.

I do not expect Aranda or Kiffin to be interested or attainable, but gotta give it a shot I think.

I was just thinking of the irony that a year ago, some people here were saying definitively that Harbaugh would be fired after this season and CMC would likely be gone to Michigan.

Funny how things turn out.

A year ago? Less than 3 weeks ago, I don't know you could have said definitively that Harbaugh was going to be retained. If he lost to tOSU again, I could have seen a scenario that he was let go.

Yeah that didn't take long to turn and then escalate in a new direction(s).
Edit: only it almost wasn't very funny.

That LSU team demolished everyone. They have no equal.

I would consider this demolishing

Beat #13 by 22
Beat #15 59-0
Beat #11 65-7
Beat #4 by 23

Beating #15 and #11 in consecutive weeks 124-7 is a NCAA record for margin of victory over ranked opponents in consecutive weeks

512 points scored to 117 given up

6 All Americans

17 1st round draft picks (This is insane)

38 players drafted

To be fair, they played Nebraska after Colorado broke them.

Does Colorado breaking Nebraska affect the Rose Bowl?

We'll never know. I just like that Colorado broke them, and then they had to play Miami next.

Here's a reminder of that day just over 20 years ago that has nothing to do with this thread.

1:14 is when the fun starts.

It’s a debate for sure and that would be a hell of a game between the 2001 Miami Hurricanes and 2019 LSU Tigers.

It also depends on the rules we are playing by. If back in the early ‘00s where defensive backs could really be physical and press then Miami has the edge. But if it’s 2019 rules like LSU played with nobody is stopping that offense. They were frightening and then the defense turned it up in the back half of the year. Gotta remember they embarrassed that same Clemson team that absolutely annihilated Bama in the previous years title game.
