So how do people operate if they travel to a different time zone for a few days?
They die.

It's already pretty rough on my health just having two young kids. Throw in extra cranky and I'll need a trip to the dispensary.

All I can say is this too shall pass...

my kids finally are all potty trained and sleep through the night...so of course the wife got a puppy. Like starting over again.

Probably because it leads to increased deaths every year, for no good reason.

No agenda there.

But there is this:
"if you're personally concerned about how setting the clocks ahead might affect your own health or decision making, you can try to get ahead of the change by gradually acclimatizing to the new schedule in the days leading up to the switch." It is done on a Saturday night for a reason. Most people can use Friday night, Saturday morning, Saturday night, Sunday morning and Sunday night to gradually adjust to the change. You could even start to go to bed earlier and getting up gradually earlier for a week or more before the change if you are really that affected.

We should probably ban Sunday and Monday Night Football as well as all night MLB baseball games since if they go long millions of people are losing sleep. We should also ban people from going fishing or going out to hunt before dawn for their own protection since this disrupts their sleep cycle.

Virtually every human being misses an hour of sleep countless times during the course of a year but we pick one to make some sort of a bogeyman because people have an agenda.

Multiple studies have shown that mortality spikes every year at this time. I'm not sure what agenda you might be referring to, but the only agenda I can imagine is not having mortality spike for no discernible gain.

We aren't even to daylight savings and I'm already zapped by about 8. This truly does suck.

My vote is to stay on daylight time and nix standard time. I would rather have the daylight in the evening. That said, I'll support whatever it takes to just stop the changing.

I don’t do it currently but nothing was more depressing than working all day and driving home in the dark for months in a row.

I've disliked it for a while, but I think this year will take the cake. I have an infant who already likes getting up at 5 a.m. every day. When we change the clocks, it'll be more like 4 a.m. Ugh. We're going to attempt shifting his bedtime in the days leading up to the time change, but I'm not sure we'll be successful. Anyone have advice for navigating the time change with littles?

This thread reminds me I need to start getting back into Vitamin D tablets. Tends to help a bit during the Dark Times.
