I'm still waiting for updates on the "OSU, Michigan, PSU to the SEC" front. There were many on here breathing alot of oxygen into that one. Where we at?

I don't think those 3 conferences have any reason to add anyone if there is an alliance.

A scheduling alliance where the PAC 12 gains 2 or 3 better non-con games is not going to increase the conference's worth in any meaningful way leading up to their next contract negotiation. Some of those teams already play B1G and ACC teams in the non-con. PAC needs to think big or they too will die as a conference.

You talk like someone whose team doesn’t matter as well.

You're so dull.

Not really. You are just trying really hard to pretend your team matters. If ohio state fans heard you and the Michigan state guy talking, they would laugh at you for thinking you have any role in what they are going to do.

so quit pretending you matter. You don’t. If those schools decide they’re tired of propping Iowa up, you would be in the same spot.

I think it's really healthy for you to get those feelings out there. Good work.

They matter to me. I'd be having the same emotions if I were you.

But do they matter. Does the big 10 take their feelings into consideration when making any decisions?

I mean you care enough to go to an Iowa state site to defend Iowa (yikes). But does gene smith?

I've been here a while. If Iowa doesn't matter as much as OSU or Michigan or PSU then I guess that makes them no different than the other 10 schools. I'm fine with that. I've already said I hope ISU makes it out of this in a P5/P4 conference. Sorry if the truth that the B1G is in a stronger position heading into any expansion than the Pac and ACC bothers you. If it makes you feel better to yammer on about how much Iowa doesn't matter within that B1G conference, knock yourself out.

Yeah your comments have clearly displayed how concerned you are about Iowa State.

I went to Michigan and State actually. I’ve never once tried to say that Michigan state is equal to OSU in value. What I have said is that the schools and more importantly their presidents get an equal say in decisions. I know this is inconceivable to you coming from a conference where your big schools treated everyone else like trash but that just isn’t the way it’s been done in the big ten. WithCovid last year the conference ****** everything up from day one and had to scramble to make things right but all the other schools were ok with it (maybe not Indiana)

Duh!
For the B1G, you have to give a lot of credit to Delaney and the BTN. That network completely changed not only the B1G but the entire landscape of college football. Without BTN tOSU and Mich weren't going to continue to pay everyone else bills either.
And it could have been the B12 first, but all but UT voted against it. It makes one wonder what could have been…

Lots of blame to go around but the B12's troubles started when former Commish Kevin Weiberg pushed for the formation of a Big 12 Network back in the 2006 timeframe (before BTN) and the quartet of UT, OU, aggy and Nebraska refused. All it took was for one of them to side with Weiberg and if that happened, the B12 would not be in the position it is today.
IIRC, all but UT were against it. Next, UT asked A&M if they wanted to do a network with just them and they said ‘no’ again. The network later got done as LHN to keep UT in the league.

They'll have to lower their academic standards. I doubt they budge on religious institutions, however.

If I'm them, I'm taking Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, & UNLV.
I’d say a better 4 would be ISU instead of UNLV. Built in pod with familiarity. Gets their PAC 12 network more heavily in the CST…
