Conference Realignment

Agree with the first paragraph but not the second one. Of the teams that left the Big 12 Colorado may be the only one I would welcome back but Nebraska and Mizzou can go **** themselves. Nebraska especially is finding out the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence. They may benefit more financially for being in the Big 10 but they are just another middle of the pack (if that) school in that conference competition wise now and still living in the 90's if they think their FB program is still considered one of the elite programs. I remember when they joined they thought they were just going to steamroll everyone in FB and be up there yearly with Ohio State and Michigan but lately they have basically been in the same category as Illinois and Purdue in FB.

This is the correct answer. I'm a NeverHusker. Good riddance, I'm glad they are the Big Ten's problem now.

That's an emotional decision, not a good business decision.

IF expansion benefits us:

See if Mizzou is interested in a return to geographic normalcy first. Financially speaking, they may be interested in slashing travel expenses. Would be nice to have a neighbor again. If that were to happen, I suspect the SEC would move to add UNC and the ACC would replace that slot with WVU- in which case we shouldn't charge an exit fee and bid them a fond farewell with no hard feelings.

If Mizzou were to return, I wouldn't be shocked to see Nebraska swallow their pride and try to join the reunion. Colorado thinks they're a costal elite, so we won't see any interest from them unless the Pac 12 really starts to tank. If we wanted to even things out we could add BYU as football-only or promote Colorado State.

Agree- no more Texas schools & I'd much rather we expanded West.

Nebraska can get bent if they ever try to come back. Maybe NDSU and BYU if we had to add 2. Like I've said, I love the 10 team league but if we HAD to add someone or if we have to replace a team that leaves, those 2 would be fine additions IMO.

100% understand the hate for Missouri, Colorado, and Nebraska after they left. Losing long time rivalry games has been the biggest shame of college football. We lost 3 of our 6 longest standing rivals. Count me as one that would angrily take them back. Its amazing to me we still have less games with the Texas schools than a Minnesota team that we've played once since the dawn of football.

It is cool when we play KSU it gets more attention every year that it's the oldest continuous series in the sport.

Thank god you're not the commissioner.

Why would you ever want Nebraska back? They are horrible at basketball, horrible at football, don't add anything with regards to academic prestige AND they left on their own accord because they essentially threw a hissy fit about the LHN.

Give me one good reason Nebraska should ever get another chance with the Big 12 if it came down to it.

Keep the Big12 the way it is but create a scheduling and tv rights alliance with the PAC.
I really like the "idea" of a scheduling / tv alliance with the Pac. But only if we benefit monetarily (and obviously we wouldn't agree to something we'd lose money on).

I just think it'd be really cool to have guaranteed Pac games.

Because we would absolutely wallop the piss out of them the way things are right now.

If NDSU is North Dakota State, then its a non starter. Or is it ND?

If the financials worked out I'd pull the trigger...but it'd have to be solid $$$. They're a problem child in the B1G too which should give any P5 Commissioner pause.

Pre Larry Scott, I would've been 100% on board. But that guy is a charlatan. Until that conference gets' back to an administration with integrity, I wouldn't even consider them.

North Dakota State. Just out of curiosity, why is it a non-starter? They have the same amount of players drafted as ISU in the NFL and have had 1 soon to be 2 QBs drafted in the first round.

What is people’s fascination with the west coast teams? Pre realignment that would have made more sense but we are an eastern focused conference now. We should be trying to get teams in the middle of the country like Louisville, Memphis, Cincinnati, or Arkansas.

The PAC 12 is out in no mans land.

Honestly it wouldn’t be so bad if Iowa joined the conference. It would give us flexibility to schedule some different games in the non-conference for a change.
Salty, I love ya, but you are batsh*t crazy if you think adding ToE is anywhere close to a good idea.

Dealing with them and the parade of morons once a year is bad enough. I don’t need them anymore intertwined into ISU athletics.

Still don't want either of them back. Mizzou has always been a cesspool for many reasons both athletically and academically and I still say Nebraska can go **** themselves. If we expanded 2 more teams geographically what would make sense is find a couple schools somewhere between ISU and WVU. I've always thought Louisville and Cincinnati made a lot of sense, maybe even Memphis. I may be a little jaded still for those 2 schools leaving the Big 12 and nearly causing it to blow up where we could have been possibly looking at having to join a non-power 5 conference so yes **** them and the horse they rode in on if they ever want to come crawling back with their tail tucked between their legs.

Because theyre a national brand that drives viewers and therefore revenue. They have a century of history with a good chunk of the big 12. They add another close road game for the fans.

Anyone thinking that Nebraska wouldnt be a great add is thinking with their heart and not evaluating it from a business perspective.
