It really doesn’t sound like foul play at all. Think he died in the elements.
It was very cold the days he was missing. It dropped below 0 on Friday and Saturday.
This is tragic and I can’t stop thinking about it. One thing I can’t figure out, though. If it’s assumed that he left his house and walked to wherever they found him, would that not be a situation where a trained search dog could easily track and find him? I don’t know anything about search dogs so maybe it’s not that simple. My prayers to his family.
Did it snow between the time of disappearance and finding him? I don’t know much about tracking humans with dogs, but I wonder if fresh snow would cover the scent? Also, the extreme cold and wind might have also had a negative effect on scent tracking.
I know I would end my own life if that was the case. Assuming I didn't have other children to take care of.
I know deer have a harder time winding you when you have very cold, very dry air. I would assume dogs might have the same trouble. Scent 'sticks' a little better with warmer, humid air.
They have another son and they are very religious and have lots of friends here. That won't happen. Also, about the rumors, that's all they are. People assumed some things based on news reports. They haven't said what happened that night but it doesn't really matter. Please don't try to place blame on anyone.
No, I'm talking about me only. I wouldn't project that on anybody else. Having another kid, I'd figure it out.

My only hope is that it was instant. Beyond that, it's completely horrible. I had visions of him slowly freezing to death. Just a nightmare.

I hope his family is doing as well as they can.
They did not want one due to tax implications. There was something set up for a scholarship fund but I don't have the specifics right now.
