Some people take sports, way too seriously

Maybe I am a bad fan but I turned the game off when they went up 20. I monitored it on Twitter some but the game was pretty much over at that point. I got over it and moved on. Since having kids I just don't get caught up in stuff like that anymore.

Until the pain goes away.

What school was this one from?

University of Maine. I knew I wasn't the best fit, but the ads fitting me this year are few and far between.
They were polite. First school that mentioned that they know the application process is a time commitment, but that their review led to candidates who were a more direct fit. Same thing as a different school but with the little bit of courtesy (and knowledge beforehand that I didn't quite fit).

Just 2 apps out now. Alabama A&M, who is unlikely to call, and Assumption College in MA, who had an ad which looked like I wrote it for myself. We'll see. Nothing else seems to be coming around.

It was in the building that connects to the one I'm in and is not there anymore. It was in kind of a weird spot where there would be little walk-by traffic.
That reminds me - a bulk candy store just opened up in my town that supposedly features retro candy. Told Lew I want to go check it out, because you can't find Atkinson Peanut Butter Bars locally any more. They used to be a full size candy bar in Texas, and I would get some every time we went down there (or have my sister send them to me). Then for a while, Thiessens & Menards were carrying small bags of a bite-size version hanging on the racks by the registers, but they don't sell them any more. I realy really LOVE those things. Picture a Butterfinger without the chocolate, and slightly less crumbly. Mmmmmmmmmmm

For you old-timers, Atkinson also makes Chick-o-sticks.

Meh, no one worries about the wrapping anyway. It just keeps you from seeing what's inside. I don't think I've ever thought to myself "what a marvelous wrapping job they did to this present. Now I shall destroy all that work."
Eh, my mother was an artist when it came to wrapping presents. They looked beautiful under the tree. And she loved it when we attacked them on Christmas morning. :D

We watched to the end. They kept fighting - they brought it back to within three, I think. Just couldn't quite make it over the hump, but they didn't quit. I completely understand about the kid thing though - the only demands we have on our time are the cats, and as long as we don't get too agitated while watching the game, they're right there napping. ;)

Is Assumption College in that town that doesn't know how to pronounce its own name?

For our redneck party, my wife found a pack of candy cigarettes at a local gift shop. They cost fiddy cents. They tasted terrible. I think they've been sitting there since candy cigarettes were popular in the 70's.

Also, anything peanut butter is almost always good so I'll have to be on the lookout for some of these Atkinson thingies.

Just had to do a corrective action on an employee. Actually feel bad about it (is this what having feelings is like?! Am I getting soft?!)

He’s a genuinely good person and really cares about the kids that come in, but it’s one of those situations where, because he did a good job, the business tripled, and now it’s so much that I think it just overwhelms him above his ability.

Update: he resigned two days later.

After talking about them, I got a hankering for them. I went searching:

Need stocking stuffer treats advice. Allergy related.

Bought some Lindt chocolate treats for the grandnephews and grandnieces. Just a silly thing I do on holidays. One year the little boys and I "carved" some chocolate Lindt turkeys. So bought some to take to Indy with me and remembered one grandniece had/has allergies. So ask niece and her little gal is okay with dairy stuff now so chocolate is okay but peanuts are verboten.

So I check and no peanuts in the "ingredients" however it has this catchall "May contain peanuts hazelnuts or almonds." Well, ****. Go to store and every single chocolate product has a similar warning. From "may contain" to "processed on same equipment for nut products". The kicker was a fancy peppermint stick that had "Produced in same manufacturing facility as products containing peanuts". Any ideas for a substitute I can have for allergy girl? Would need to be something in league with the below stuff.

Is it only peanuts or is she able to have almonds? Z isn't supposed to eat peanuts. So, we don't let her have M&Ms or other items that say 'May'. You can always call the company. "Is it in the same room/machine" or are you covering your but for the peanuts in the building?"

Hershey's chocolate has been good for her. She likes fruit snacks, twizzlers....

Because it’s a topping heavy pizza and needs one.

But ta Ching. Will be here all week.

Btw, bra comment now gets me mystery of the night lingerie ads. :)

Okay, you really don't get what a demi bra is or you would have given me a different answer. Right, KC and CG? Sigh.
