In Memoriam: Ames Business/Restaurants

Give me 24 hour made to order breakfast spot, whataburger is glorified BK, never been to a bojangles and if you vote RUNZA get the **** out of Ames and go back to Nebraska you dirty Husker.
In and Out would be a different story.

Ames is way too safe of a town to have a Waffle House. You would never have that "I may get shot but the hash browns will be worth it" feeling, which is part of the Waffle House experience.

That's where I first met your mom!

This ain't my first rodeo Ang...

DAMMIT! I hadn't seen it - so many extra points for mentioning the Main location!

I'm so glad there are other Suko Thai fans. It was so good!

Wasn't the place that was Hombre's that first, then the Japanese place, and then Tequila's or something?

Idk if anyone will remember it because it was never very popular, but my crew loved the OLD AJ's Ultra Lounge, back when it was on Lincoln Way.

They had an awesome setup, outdoor area, a pool table, and amazing specials. We ordered so many god damn $1 tequila shots

Then they moved to their current location on the corner and it was never the same

Remember when McDonald's was on Welch? They had Cyclone Fries which was literally just a bag of fries. It was so greasy and delicious.

I had a buddy who would order 10 cheeseburgers and a bag of Cy Fries before going out Saturday Night. He'd eat 4 or 5 cheeseburgers and the bag of Fries, drink a 30 of Stones or Natty, and then polish off the rest. He gained a few pounds in college.

Shakee’s Pizza and sing along. West Ames on Lincoln Way

They had a dark beer that wasn’t too bad
