Yeah why did he have any charge?
Heck, charge the other guy with an attempted hate crime on top of the beating he earned.

I think there's a lesson to be learned about making idle threats to well conditioned athletes.
Funny story... Was at a bar in Ames in 1992-ish and a floor mate from Kehelenbeck called one of our wrestlers a db. The wrestler pushed my floor mate to the floor and my floor mate jumped up and took a boxing stance. The kick to his schnoots by the wrestler twisted his internal man parts. I'm wincing right now....
Not the reason for the KO.
Words, no matter how bad, shouldn't lead to violence. Threatening someone harm, yep, you'll get that sort of reaction.
I've had friends in these types of scenarios. Could be they dropped other charges if he plead on the disorderly conduct. Could be the other side lawyered up and were pressing charges and Alexander didn't have the means to get a lawyer. Messy situations when charges are pressed due to punches being thrown. If he'd fought it in court it might have kept him from playing, dragged out something he didn't want to deal with, and/or risked getting convicted of charges much worse than disorderly conduct.Yeah why did he have any charge?
My issue is even if the other person wanted to press charges they should need a prosecuter willing to do it. Assuming the information in that story was accurate what ****** prosecutor was willing to bring any charges?I've had friends in these types of scenarios. A prosecutor that is getting paid. Unfortunately. My issue is even if the other person wanted to press charges they should need a prosecuter willing to do it. Assuming the information in that story was accurate what ****** prosecutor was willing to bring any charges?
That’s the point he and others make about the justice system not working.
I actually think I might have been in that fracas. My close friend from high school started DT for Iowa and was a roommate of Brett Bielema. I stepped in to help my buddy not get in trouble and got punched in the face by somebody, but not sure who.Was in Iowa City around that same era. Bar fight between football guys and wrestlers. The level of violence was above my level.
Beer was spilled on me in the fracas. I turned around and was face to chest with a football player. He apologized for spilling his beer on me.
I was drunk and very thankful he didn't want to go. Rocky vs Thunderlips situation.
Kids, never fight a D-1 wrestler or football player. You will not win
I'm friends with a d-1 wrestler and it is not fun when he tries to wrestle me. Can't image the damage he could do to me in fight. Was in Iowa City around that same era. Bar fight between football guys and wrestlers. The level of violence was above my level.

That's assault. I mean the dude that got knocked out, not Mackenro. You can't threaten someone with a gun, and then reach behind your back and not expect someone to defend themselves. Stupid world, stupid rules, stupid results.
I imagine other people were present, and I'm sure they didn't respond to a racial slur with 'Golly sir, that's rude.' Either way if the dude actually threatened physical harm and acted to present that grounds for an ass whooping in my book.No idea what actually occurred but I guarantee this story has two very different sides with the truth somewhere in the middle. A racist prick that seeks out football players isn't long for the Ames bar scene. Real or perceived I'm sure the other side felt provoked as well. Just saying there is almost always plenty of blame to go around.
Oh, completely 100% agree. My issue is even if the other person wanted to press charges they should need a prosecuter willing to do it. Assuming the information in that story was accurate what ****** prosecutor was willing to bring any charges?

I assume that there are plenty of racists in Iowa. I'm born and raised so I would know.My point is I have a hard time believing someone would last very long in Ames throwing unprovoked racial slurs at football players. But feel free to go threw life with your head up your ass and blindly assume the side you want to be in the right played no part in what led to this altercation.
