Mackenro Alexander-Arrested for Assault

My point is I have a hard time believing someone would last very long in Ames throwing unprovoked racial slurs at football players. But feel free to go threw life with your head up your ass and blindly assume the side you want to be in the right played no part in what led to this altercation.
Over 30 years on campus tells me that sadly, there are still plenty of racists in the student (and faculty/staff) populations.

Ugh. I almost threw up trying to get through your posts. For multiple reasons.

Good job being the guy who starts making it personal in this thread. Everyone was playing nice since the new news about this story came out but then you proceed to unnecessarily tell someone they have their head up their ass. You could have made your point without that little tidbit and probably had a stronger point but you decided to take it to the gutter.

Kudos.

But you go ahead with your head up your ass and believe this doesn’t happen frequently. As a former college football player I can tell you it does. The thing is that generally most aren’t face to face. I couldn’t even tell you how many times I heard racist comments towards my buddies as we walked home that came from a car full of drunk idiots, people on balconies/backyards that we couldn’t see, or just yelling over the crowd at a party or bar. I’ve been involved with a couple instances where it lead to fights and I can tell you without a doubt blame was one sided.

Regardless of size of their target my experience is drunk racists tend to do stupid drunk racist things.

No idea what actually occurred but I guarantee this story has two very different sides with the truth somewhere in the middle. A racist prick that seeks out football players isn't long for the Ames bar scene. Real or perceived I'm sure the other side felt provoked as well. Just saying there is almost always plenty of blame to go around.

Fine people on both sides

Lol well you’re wrong

If Campbell withheld discipline on a guy who was racially taunted, I am OK with that. He seems like he very good at building cohesion with players.

So does threatening another student with a gun get you booted off campus? Seems like it should. Surely this fraternity doesn't want this piece of garbage associated with them. Is this kid still on around?

I feel awful that anyone would have to deal with racists like this but part of me is glad when these lowlifes identify themselves so we can judge them and act accordingly. I don't necessarily condone violence but if you wanna act like an ahole, don't get upset when people treat you like one. I only hope someone was able to drop the line from the movie Friday "You knocked the...."

Well it doesn't sound like he did. Sounds like he got out in front of his skies and got starched.

Tell him to run the stairs, then head off to your office and watch film instead of enforcing the punishment seems like a more efficient use of coaches time. :)
